While her body remains, Judith Anne’s soul has joined her husband, my dad, in Heaven~ It is a romantic irony that she had her stroke and heart attack on their anniversary.
After a third scan as well as an EEG (second for the EEG), it confirmed that the strokes continue and she is no longer with us. We were finally able to unreservedly yield to her standing wishes and stop the extra measures we continued to permit until confirmation was affirmed as to her true status. Now we wait for final closure in the passing of her body. It was a deep blessing and comfort for me, personally, that I was able to sit beside her and share the Rosary with her one last time.
Again, allow me to say how overwhelmingly appreciative I am to ALL of you! The prayers, encouragement, stories you’ve shared, links, support, as well as those that have essentially safe-guarded this thread! I had the chance to show this to my brother late last night and he, who never tears up, had need of tissues! You each have hugged our hearts! Know that we send hugs to yours as well!
I am so sorry, Chantillie. Hugs and prayers for your family.
Prayers will continue for you and your family in this time of great sorry, mixed with the joy of your knowing your mom’s soul is in heaven with your dad.
Oh Chantillie....I am so sorry to read this, so very sorry.
I’m in awe, always, of the fine people who pray on FreeRepublic, and OF COURSE, how He answers our prayers.
May our Lord comfort you and your family during this time of loss...thank you SO much for giving us the opportunity to pray.
God bless you, Chantillie, God bless you..
Dear Chantillie, I am so sorry to hear this news. My heart and prayers go out for you and your family at this sad time.
Your sweet mother will be very much missed here, but she’ll be watching over you until such a time that you see her again.
I send my most sincere condolences and may your dear mother rest in peace as the good Lord comforts you and your family.
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word,
But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.
Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings;
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea.
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.
Thou on my head in early youth didst smile,
And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee.
On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
Thank you for taking the time to update us about your Mom. She always talked about what a great husband she had and how much she loved and missed him. What a sweet thing that, on their anniversary, they have been reunited. Please rest in the knowledge that your Mom is with the Lord Jesus, rejoicing in his awesome presence and will be with your Dad for eternity praising our wonderful Savior. Scripture says we should “sorrow not as others who have no hope”. We DO have the everlasting hope and assurance that to be “absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” I will continue to pray for God’s comfort and peace to surround your family and that you physically sense his loving arms around you all. God bless you.
Oh, I am so very sorry to hear this. Judith Anne prayed privately with me a number of times. I had hope that she would somehow pull through. She possessed such an open caring Spirit and a most compassionate heart.
My heartfelt prayers are extended for you and your family tonight and in the coming days. God Bless Judith Anne and may she rest in God’s Abiding Love and Peace.
On their anniversary and you were with your mom through it all - right to the end. Your grief must be great yet you honored her in every way possible. May you and your brother experience His peace that defies human understanding.
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”. Phil 4:7
Thank you so very much for sharing this information with us. I had the thread open & was continually checking for updates. I had hoped for something other than what I just read..
Like 180 degrees different.
Hope springs eternal and we know your mom’s hope was in the faith she professed so powerfully. She has her crown.
I do find it interesting as you mentioned about the timing of the strokes/heart attack. Almost like another sign from God.. hey, everyone, I know what I am doing~
If you are comfortable doing so, please would you give us details on any services forthcoming?
Bless you & your family.. I know the pups also miss Mom...lots of stories within every story.
God Bless
We have lost a dear FRiend. I will miss my nurse FRiend. {{{hugs}}}
I will pray especially hard for the repose of your mother's soul today.
In paradisum deducant te Angeli; in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres, et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Ierusalem. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat, et cum Lazaro quondam paupere æternam habeas requiem.
(May angels lead you into paradise; upon your arrival, may the martyrs receive you and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem. May the ranks of angels receive you, and with Lazarus, the poor man, may you have eternal rest.)
Regards,
Prayers continue for your mother and your family.
Job 12:10 ~ In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away ... Blessed be the Name of the Lord. Job 1:21
SUNRISE
When I shall come to the end of my way,
When I shall rest at the close of life’s day,
When “Welcome home” I shall hear Jesus say,
Oh, that will be sunrise for me. . .
When in His beauty I see the great King,
Join with the ransomed His praises to sing,
When I shall join them my tribute to bring,
Oh, that will be sunrise for me. . .
When life is over and daylight is passed,
In heaven’s harbor my anchor is cast,
When I see Jesus my Savior at last,
Oh, that will be sunrise for me. . .
Sunrise tomorrow, sunrise tomorrow,
Sunrise in glory is waiting for me;
Sunrise tomorrow, sunrise tomorrow,
Sunrise with Jesus for eternity.
I am so sorry to hear this.
My prayers for you and your family will continue.
Dear Sister.
