New Romney Iowa ad: Smaller government, end of 'Obamacare'
By Daniel Strauss - 12/26/11 11:20 AM ET

Mitt Romney is airing a new 30-second ad in Iowa in which he promises to shrink government and get rid of the Obama administration's healthcare reform law.

The ad, "Conservative Agenda", features Romney promising to streamline the federal government and highlighting the former Massachusetts governor's background as a businessman. Spliced together with clips of him talking, Romney is seen walking through factories and talking with voters in a diner setting.

"I'm going to do something to government," Romney says in the ad. "I'm going to make it simpler and smaller and smarter. Getting rid of programs, turning programs back to states, and finally, making government itself more efficient."

Romney also stresses stronger fiscal discipline in the ad.

"It’s a moral imperative for America to stop spending more money than we take in," Romney says. "The experience of balancing budgets is desperately needed in Washington and I will take it there," Romney says.

The ad comes just ahead of the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses. The early date of the Iowa caucuses has caused the Republican presidential campaigns to have a sort of ceasefire and hold off on negative attacks and ads during the holiday season. Restore Our Future, a pro-Romney superpac, was off the air on Saturday and Sunday. The respite of negative attacks is meant to avoid offending large swaths of Iowa Christian conservatives.

That would be like Gov. Walker running for President with a pro-union platform.

Just an observation, but so far, I’ve seen articles posted bashing Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Rick Perry - all within the space of 2 minutes. Some posted almost simultaneously. Well done./s

If I were to vote for Romney I would be in the same class of intelligence as those that voted for Obama. I keep recalling this plan for health insurance for everyone in Massachusetts; and now he would abolish Obamacare. Obamacare was modeled after the law that Romney signed; but now Romney wants to abolish Obamacare. This used to be called absurd behavior, but we have seen so much of it for so long that most of us don't even realize it is absurd. Romney is so plastic and so phony that I don't think anyone in his/her right mind would consider him seriously. Am I missing something? Talk amongst yourselves.

Vote for Romney:
Sanctuaries and Nazi palaces (seized, of course) for HIM.

Taxes and DeathCARE and Romney Dictates for YOU.

And, of course, Sharia and the 911 Victory Mosque for the Invaders.

“US election 2012: Mitt Romney's life as a poor Mormon missionary in France questioned
Although he spent time in other French cities, for most of 1968, Mr Romney lived in the Mission Home,
a 19th century neoclassical building in the French capital’s chic 16th arrondissement.
…. “I would describe it as a palace”.
Tearful as he described … Romney aides had asked him not to speak publicly …
The building...was bought by the Mormons in 1952,
having been seized by the Nazis during the Second World War.
The Church sold it again..
.it was until recently the embassy of the United Arab Emirates.”

"(The GroundZero Mosque) cleared its final hurdle ….
developers plan to build the $100 million center which will include a mosque.
Since its incipient stages in July 2009, when a Muslim-run real-estate development
company purchased the damaged, vacant building and land where the new center
will be built, the project has sparked controversy and debate.
.... the tattered building that was bought by the Muslim real estate company had
been owned by a subsidiary of Bain Capital, a company Romney founded in 1984.

So it’s OK if his company can profit off the sale of the land ."

“Bain Capital, has cut checks totaling $90,000 to Romney’s operation. “

Perfectly written.

And 100% true.

RINOmney would give away Utah if it’d help him be president.

Romney is a SON OF A BITCH liar. That bastard is going to get the nomination, and the scarier thing is that he might get the White House.

Jim, LL, all -- I think we regular-folks limited-government conservatives should prepare to switch gears. We're conditioned to think in conventional terms of Republican and Democrat in very flawed state primaries, and that system is broken. Broken enough to have given us McCain in '08.

We're not going to change the primary system, so in order to save this election and give it to THE PEOPLE (the real voters, not the manufactured minions of Democrats), we must go outside the rails, break convention. I don't know how or which way, only that we must.

Because either of these two in the White House, Romney or Obama WILL BE A DEATH KNELL for America. America will be a nation where the government parasite is growing so strong that it's in the process of killing its host.

Many -- we might even say most -- good Americans remain ignorant of Romney's utter deceitfulness. The method is squarely by two factors: Money (Romney's bottomless pockets) and the MSM including most conservative news media, the news outlets, the top-of-the-news reporting even on the conservative stations that air Rush and Levin and Elder, etc.

Folks say, "Anybody but Obama."

For me, it's "Anybody but Romney."

Obama wins, general folks and congress turn right regardless because Obama's support and popularity is PRETEND. People are wising up. Just because the MSM doesn't report it (and they assiduously avoid it) doesn't mean it isn't happening. It is. If Obama wins, at least we have a chance.

Romney wins, the people who voted Republican -- and many will be doing it for the first time -- in order to get away from all the power and control and government tyranny of Democrats will very soon come to hate the Republican party with a passion because it is such a lying fraud and they didn't vote for that!

(No, they didn't pay attention to what they were voting for, only what they wanted to vote against. STUPID WAY TO VOTE.)

Romney wins, Congress turns left while the people become more cynical than ever. Romney wins, EVERYBODY loses.

Romney is only a false reprieve. That's all. The Democrat who comes after him will have more power, and be more leftist, than ever. They get worse every cycle -- Clinton, then God forbid a possible Hillary ... no, anybody but Hillary! and we got our wish -- we got OBAMA! The Democrat who'd follow a "Republican" reign such as Romney's would make Obama look like John Birch.

Both Romney and Obama are sure-bet losers for America.

We need somehow to do an end-run on the system with this next presidential election in order to save this country, and a major part of that end-run play has to be TAKING DOWN ROMNEY.

The other day I heard Rush say, "Going negative works."

In regular retail and service commercial advertising, going negative only ever works in that it turns people off to the product being sold, so good product/service advertising, effective advertising, stays scrupulously positive. Those who run negative ads create negative imagery even if that negative imagery is presented in contrast to what they're trying to sell.

And paradoxically, this is why negative advertising works so well in politics -- when I go negative on Romney when I talk about him to people, I'm not trying to sell them anything, I'm not trying to contrast him to "my guy," whoever that might be. I'm only trying to tell them, "Stay the hell away from Romney." The negative stays focused on Romney.

He is a vampire!!! Didn't a lot of us see this coming back in 2008? That lying, duplicitous bastard is trying to suck the blood out of the Republican party and leave a bloodless corpse. Mitt Romney needs a stake driven through his political heart.

Now do you want me to tell you how I really feel? ;^)

I’m hoping, if Mitt locks it up by March, that a genuine alternative will develop.

My analysis is that the only way the 40% conservative plurality can prevail is in a three way race.

I think that there's a very good possibility that 40% is low-balling.

At least, in legitimate elections. We don't really know via actual elections because fraud and vote ginning (different things, by my definition) are so significant that we've reached the point where a minority has seized power.

I'm starting to think of it in terms of a really good fake railroad bridge -- looks very real until a real train tries to cross it.

The fake bridge is Americans' supposed penchant for statism, the popularity of liberalism, as reflected in the MSM and public education. The train is reality, reality being that most Americans object to much of liberalism and statism. The illusion causes collapse, as the election of 2012 is exhibiting.

Third party? It will get 15 to 17%%, Republicans will get 29 to 31% and Obama will get 45% to win the election in 50 states(may be even in 57 states) ! Stop yelling at Romney ! It was conservatives problem of not able to go behind one single guy ! For the last 5 months, I have to switch 5 candidates and I am tired ! I am going to support Rick Sanatorum and if he looses, I will go with eventual nominee which might be Romney !
