A week after U.S. forces pulled out of Iraq, Iran has announced its willingness to expand its military and security links with Baghdad.
The AFP reports Iranian General Hassan Firouzabadi praised the "forced departure" of U.S. troops, saying it ""was due to the resistance and determination of the Iraqi people and the government."

We can do better than ‘shock and awe’
We can do better than shock and awe
Unfortunately, not with the muzzie currently occupying the W.H.
Obama
He did this to placate his passivist base for the coming election. Well it just may backfire on him.
Hell, we didn't really do it under Bush who actually wanted to defend us. With the mentality of the times, we would lose another WWI or WWII - everyone's so concerned about collateral damage they won't allow the wholesale destruction of combatants.
Since the Bamster invaded Libya and snuffed his bud Q-Daffy all bets are off. He’s shown himself capable of doing anything to get reelected, including making war on Iran. (After all they’re Shi’ite not Sunni like his MuBro pals.)
A week after U.S. forces pulled out of Iraq, Iran has announced its willingness to expand its military and security links with Baghdad.Gee whiz. Now who'd a thunk it?!?
Iraq = Vietnam ver2.0
The foreign policy of the Obama regime is to take down secular dictators to replace them with Islamic extremists.
For what? Saddam and his evil, sadistic sons were outta the game early. The threat was eliminated.
We rode to Brook Army Medical Center a while back to give the wounded a donations and a couple of guys that were able to come out to meet with us were all tore up.
For what? The real threats (Iran/Saudi Arabia/Pakistan) are still in business while we fart around in Afghanistan trying to take out a bunch cave dwellers.
Rules of engagement? PC bullcrap? Take a look at the wounded, it's pretty f’d up.
We've got the non nuclear technology to decimate whole cities. We don't need to put boots on the ground until these little tin horn countries bend into submission due to relentless bombing raids.
Don’t think Iraq is the same as Vietnam version 2. For one, lot more of us died in Vietnam. Second, in the end, Vietnam paved an independent path, and the domino theory was discredited. In contrast, in Iraq, it is the big domino that we gave on a platter to Iraq.
The upcoming middle east war, brought to you by Hope N Change, Inc.
The easiest scenario to envision is an Iraq civil war in which the Sunni provinces secede and are attacked by Iraqi Shia militias (and much of the Iraqi army), abetted by large numbers of Iranian Revolutionary Guards/Hezbollah.
Think the larger Sunni world will sit and watch the ethnic cleansing / genocide of the Sunnis in Iraq? Nope.
Smart diplomacy. Thanks Obama. Over 4000 US servicemen died for nothing. Wonderful.
The way I see it, Bush had two problems. He had to deal with too many "doves' and not enough "hawks" in the military to get the job done right. He also had the commie media's constant presence in the war zones, crying and whining to the bleeding hearts.
With Hussein at the helm, we have even more "doves" in charge. The ROEs are worse than ever for our troops, which is why so many more have been lost in Afghanistan.
I don't know that I want him sending more of our men and women into another war zone for that reason.
Another WW with today's mentality, this country is toast.
Try telling that to the dominoes in Laos, Cambodia, the "independent" boat people who fled HoChiMinh City by the hundreds of thousands, and the ten or so other countries that went communist during the next four years of the hapless Carter administration, once they realized that the US was no longer serious about containment.
U.S. involvement in Vietnam did contain communist expansion long enough to allow emerging post-colonial countries in East Asia time to develop their governments, economies and will to resist the Reds. Imelda Marcos said LBJ told her that the Vietnam War was not about Indochina but about the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. The war caused the Soviets to expend billions that their economy couldn’t regenerate. They inherited a war-torn, economic basket case. The South resisted collectivization and capitalism spread north. Now the Vietnamese want the U.S. to reoccupy Cam Rhan Bay. Some might say the war never ended.
