Shoplifting is up? Oh there is a surprise. Who would have thought that in the Era of The Won, people would feel such a sense of entitlement such a disdain for capitalism that shoplifting would be socially acceptable again.
Shame is gone. So is respect for the property of others. So are barriers on acceptable behavior in public.
The Occupy Wall Street crowd violated city ordinances against sleeping in parks both private and public. Mayors not only failed to have their police officers enforce these laws, the mayors encouraged the lawlessness.
I am not blaming Barack Obama for this or even liberalism. Both are symptoms of a societal breakdown. President Obama is not transforming America. He is simply codifying a new and lesser nation that has turned her back on the morals that shaped her greatness.
Consider conservative Republican Governor Rick Perry. He recently retired so that he can collect more than $90,000 a year from the state pension plan on top of his $150,000-a-year salary as governor. Its a scam. It may be legal but it is unethical and unfortunately, his number is legion in the bowels of federal, state, county and municipal governments. School systems allow the same rip-offs of the public treasury.

Like the liberals and PhonyCons who call Illegal Aliens “Immigrants”...we can start calling shoplifters “Customers”. That way we do not hurt their feelings...would not want to do that /sarc
The author may not accuse Zero or liberals, but I do. So much of their lives are centered on free stuff, feeling like it is fair to get back at the man, etc. These people are enabled by the left, if not outright encouraged to act out their inner angers against any and all perceived enemies.
>>we can start calling shoplifters Customers.<<
Who are only making “unfunded procurements...”
Good lord, I thought only NJ pols did this.
Perry's chances have been about zero for a long time now, but I at least had a little respect for the man's honor. No more.
Shoplifting is also a way that druggies support their habits. I have watched “Storage Wars” and there are often lockers that you know are all stolen goods.
How is Perry collecting what is owed him a scam?
There’s a segment of our population that has always felt they are entitled to shoplift and steal from their neighbors. And that population voted over 90% for the king of all thieves Obama.
It is preposterous to compare Perry collecting EARNED benefits for time in service to shoplifting.
I’ve decided that I should just become a ‘rat and get the automatic license break the laws with impunity.
Is it the authors contention that a person who serves in the military for 25 years and receives a meager pension is the same as a shoplifter?
People that paid into Social Security are owed the money, yet it is a scam. Sounds similar.
Obama and his greedy wife do their stealing directly from the White Hut.
Wut? You want pie?
I fail to see how Perry, paying into the system and aquiring the requisite years, being a thief when goes forward and collects, just because he works for the government.
Do we make people, with private retirement plans wait to collect until they are out of the private sector?
Give me a break.
Whenever I cross againist thelight or break rule, and somebody calls me on it I just say “hey, I am a Democrat, and laws and rules don’t apply to me”’ Always gets a laugh.
King of Theives would make a great campaign add.
ah, would they be “undocumented customers”?
I think Perry is collecting his monthly pension and his monthly salary at the same time.
There is nothing wrong with collecting a pension that you deserve, but you should retire from your job first to collect it.
It works like this. You “retire” for a month and start collecting your monthly pension check. Then return to work and collect your monthly salary too.
That being said, his annual salary as Gov of Texas is less than the annual salary of some high school teachers in Illinois.
You were not one of the people who worked to block the Trans Texas Corridor project which he kept pushing (long after we got the legislature to tell him not only no but hell no) until the foreign partners finally gave up.
To respect Rick Perry is to not know Rick Perry.
