CBS Forwards Harry Reid's 'Lecture' of GOP and His Hope They 'Learned a Lesson' (Blatant Propaganda)
Newsbusters ^ | 12-23-11 | Brad Wilmouth

On Friday's CBS Evening News, as correspondent Sharyl Attkisson filed a report to inform viewers that the House of Representatives had approved the Senate plan for a two-month payroll tax cut extension, Attkisson included a clip of Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid directing a "lecture" at and blaming House Republican freshmen for the delay, as she recounted his hope that they had "learned a lesson."

While the report included two soundbites from Democrats that allowed them to put forth some of their message - in the form of one clip each from Reid and President Obama - the CBS correspondent only included a couple of brief non-political clips of House Speaker John Boehner as the only Republican afforded a soundbite.

I wouldn’t be so quick to judge Atkisson’s actions/motives. She is the ONLY reporter doggedly covering Fast & Furious amidst some very serious personal grief from the White House, etc...

Were there other ‘clips’ given that she (or a WEB EDITOR) specifically chose to ignore from the GOP (they aren’t exactly good at offering rebuttals, IMHO). Just because we don’t like how the article turned out doesn’t mean we automatically know that her intention was to spread the Dem propaganda. A reporter can only do so much with the material given them — ALSO, as I said it could be a web editor who decided to embed the clips, and not the reporter herself.

I’m VERY well aware of the bias in our media - I just hate to see people biting the only hand that’s been “feeding” us at all...

Ya know... I just hope they keep this crap up cause it motivates Americans just like the Pelosi/Reid duo shoving that crappy Obamacare law right in our faces.

And THAT is what sent me and about a million other protesters across America to the crapital mall in DC.

It's also what created the momentum for the 2010 election rout across America, except for the extreme liberal west coastline!!!

Keep it up Harry, Nancy and Barak and you'll create the most fantastic landslide in the history of the democratic process against yourselves!!!

“Never give in to the POS that is known as Harry Reid.”

Thats the problem though. The republicans always cave as soon as the Dems start to scream. It has never changed in my lifetime and I doubt it ever will.

"Dems war room propaganda machine is formidable."

The Dems war room propaganda machine consists of CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, Wash. Post, NY Times, just about every big city newspaper in the country, just about every local radio and television station in country, leftist "news" magazines along with their columnists, US Government propaganda organ NPR, US government agencies and departments (DOJ, State, Dept of Labor, EPA, etc.), leftist commentators and writers, many state & local agencies and governments, homosexual/lesbian organizations, anti-white racial organizations (La Raza, Black Panthers, ACORN, etc.), labor unions, welfare groups, and last but not least, the Hollywood establishment. These are some of the groups that are ruling America today and setting the political agenda to the detriment of the nation.

It's going to be a lot to overcome.
Just a thought.

Harry used to be a boxer> “””

Dirty Harry also was a bagman for the Mob, picking up monies from the brothels surrounding Las Vegas.

He learned at the knees of the Mob how to behave.

We hate him here in N Nevada.

THERE WERE NO TAX "CUTS...."

All this does is keep everything as it was...nothing more... nothing less.

To allow Dear Leader and the Congressional RATS (aided and abetted by the biased, corrupt, Leftist Lame Stream Media) to frame the narative and take "credit" is the fault of the clueless and inept Republi-TARDS!

You would think that out of the 300+ members of R's in the House and Senate, there would be ONE (just one) who is capable of waging a PR campaign and get the facts out and if not, hire someone who can advise them on how to fight fire with fire.

Last night our local CBS newsreader gave a report about the 2 month extension and that it means $20 per week to the workers paycheck. He had difficulty adding that with a straight face!

The media is hostile to conservatives.

None of this can pass - at all - without REPUBLICAN votes.

They are just playing games.

As a loyal Republican, the only lesson I continue to learn is that Dingy Reid becomes more of a sphincter each and every day!!!

This had little to do with the payroll tax. It was about protecting Obamacare. Had this extension not been approved, Medicare reimbursements would have been cut by 30%. That pain would have been noticeable by doctors and the people. They would have revolted against Obamacare and his socialist house of cards would have crumbled.

To get $20 per week, you have to be making $50,000 a year.

It's more like $10 a week for the average Joe, but you will never hear that in the Media.

For those of you in Rio Linda, it comes out to $80 for the two month extension vs $480 a year in the Republican proposal. In the Bizarro World, $80 beats $480 every time.

A Pizza a week gives the Democrats and Obama a Political win. I guess the next question is who will be on the 2016 Democrat Ticket after 8 years of Obama?

McConnell gave Reid the knife and he shoved it in.

Primary Mitch McConnell. What's the matter with Kentuckians -- do they think they owe Mitch a living? He keeps failing like this -- remember his "help" with the debt ceiling? -- and Obama will be President for Life.

I don't understand? How are those two related?

Here is a link to the the text of what they voted on. The payroll tax was only a very small part of it.

Thanks, also, they put a tax on home loans to 'pay' for this raid on Social Security.

What the average Joe doesn't see, doesn't get reported, just the 'simple' crap that puts Oblame-o in a good light. "It's a 'tax break', sucka!"

If the goal is to bankrupt Social Security, they're making progress. Because they're Progressives, I guess. You'll get to retire when the 'collective' says you will, no sooner. Your friend, the State.
