This had little to do with the payroll tax. It was about protecting Obamacare. Had this extension not been approved, Medicare reimbursements would have been cut by 30%. That pain would have been noticeable by doctors and the people. They would have revolted against Obamacare and his socialist house of cards would have crumbled.
