Our lesson for today comes from the Gospel according to Luke. No, no, not the manger, the shepherds, the wise men, any of that stuff, but the other birth:
"But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John."
That bit of the Christmas story doesn't get a lot of attention, but it's in there Luke 1:13, part of what he'd have called the back story, if he'd been a Hollywood screenwriter rather than a physician.
Of the four gospels, only two bother with the tale of Christ's birth, and only Luke begins with the tale of two pregnancies. Zacharias is surprised by his impending paternity "for I am an old man and my wife well stricken in years."
Nonetheless, an aged, barren woman conceives and, in the sixth month of Elisabeth's pregnancy, the angel visits her cousin Mary and tells her that she, too, will conceive.
If you read Luke, the virgin birth seems a logical extension of the earlier miracle the pregnancy of an elderly lady.
The physician-author had no difficulty accepting both. For Matthew, Jesus' birth is the miracle; Luke leaves you with the impression that all birth all life is to a degree miraculous and God-given.
We now live in Elisabeth's world not just because technology has caught up with the deity and enabled women in their 50s and 60s to become mothers, but in a more basic sense.

>Government owned and run K-12 schools are godless in their worldview and a socialist-entitlement. Please send me a link to one that is not.
You misunderstood me; I meant not all parents are surrendering their children to the “school” system.
>If a child is to cooperate in one of these government owned and run godless and socialist indoctrination classrooms how can he not think godlessly?
>How would this be possible and still cooperate?
Tell me; is the light banished by darkness?
And how is this any different from God changing the hearts and minds of men as He has for all of Christian history?
(Is not the old man and his thought made new by God’s grace?)
>Why would God save this nation that murders babies before they take their first breath?
>Why would he save a nation that turns its precious children over to the priests and priestesses of Moloch? Why would he listen to the prayers of those who send their children to godless indoctrination centers for 13 or more years?
Now, isn’t that the crux of the conditionality I mentioned in my previous post? God is a Just God, and He will not fail to do right.
But just as Jonah observed, and Jesus proved, God is quick to turn away from anger and punishment, full of mercy.
Don’t get me wrong, I *want* justice (I don’t believe that mercy *CAN* exist w/o Justice); God’s will is don on Earth just as in Heaven... Justice will come.
Until it does though isn’t it the duty of the Christian to “run a rescue shop within a yard of hell” and let Jesus be the Judge?
>So Im not alone. Blessings.
Er, no... though I’m a bit confused to which part of the post you’re referring.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.
Jeremiah 1:5
He filled in for Rush today. It was fun radio as always.
As Americans are more beholden to support our immigrants we’ll have less children. And they’ll have more. Pretty complicated.
“As Americans are more beholden to support our immigrants well have less children.”
We can simply continuing breeding, and the giveaways will be cut back because Americans would qualify for them. Welfare Reform passed when “regular” people started breeding like the urban underclass - they couldn’t be denied the freebies/goodies, and the system couldn’t accommodate the rapidly growing bastard population, so it was “reset”. Look at what has happened to the urban underclass birthrate since.
People who refuse to breed can’t complain about illegal immigration - the illegals are the children they refuse to bear.

You really read what I said didn’t you? As Americans carry the immigrants they have less resources for their own family.
The Mad Tea Party is almost over.
I’m still waiting for marriage too. :)
As I said peace and blessings.
Yes, I was out of pocket earlier in the week and did not get the guest host schedule. I was hoping he would be on. I believe he said he was on next Thursday too. I am looking forward hearing him then too.
Steyn does it again.
Interesting choice of words. We worship Jesus as The River Of Life as opposed to Darwinists who worship the gene pool.
Just sayin'.
Americans do not carry the immigrants, except for the Muslim” refugees” that Obama is bringing in by the thousands, who go directly onto some form of relief. If we didn’t have the other immigrants who come here to work, many of our states would have a negative birthrate ( more deaths than births ) and we would have not only too few young workers but not enough consumers.
The native birthrate is way too low.
But don’t worry. Planned Parenthood is spending a fortune promoting abortion and birth control among Hispanics and pretty soon their birthrate and attitude towards children will be as bad as that of Anglo Americans.
I did read it, and my response was that those resources could be expended on our own children as well. Many Americans are opting to do without financial hardship by foregoing children, so those resources are simply given to those that DO have children; we should be inserting ourselves into the latter group. Having children will reduce the amount of income taxes you funnel to the illegals, and give you a claim on the freebies should you ever actually need them. If the system becomes unsustainable (as welfare did), then it will be changed.
I agree.
Ditto.
