Being Jewish I an not offended by all the Christmas cheer. To me it means in spite of all the serious problems out there, there is hope. And we can respect each other's religious and spiritual viewpoints and air and share, debate and argue our opinions WITHOUT any help from the ACLU, People for the American Way and esp. the gov't. So a heartfelt MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy Hannukah to the staff at Free Republic and to all my FReinds here! Yes, even the trolls, lurkers and site pests, in the hope that they one day wise up and learn from the foolishness of their ways.
Amen.
Being a Christian, I am pleased to wish our Jewish friends Happy Hannukah, as I remember that Jesus was a Jew. So Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah!
Blessings!
Mel
P.S. Happy Hannukah to you!
Thanks! How refreshing.
Never in my life have I complained (or has it even occurred to me to complain) about a Menorah appearing in public, even on government property.
It’s just ridiculous all this bashing of Christian displays in public.
I join you in wishing others a Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah season.
All the best to you and your family.
And Jesus celebrated Chanukkah too.... In John 10 22-23b it says “Then came the Festival of Dedication [Hanukkah] at Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was in the temple courts...” (NIV)
Happy Hannukah and Merry Christmas to ya!
Happy Hannukah and a Merry Christmas to you.
Yes, a good freind of mine is a devout Catholic, he expained that to me.

Happy Hannukah and a Merry Christmas!
Or perhaps some cookies?
The Baby Jesus has been very good to certain Chri$tians, Jew$ and Mu$lims.
Well, Happy Hanukkah to you! Blessings and good health to you and your family throughout the season and into the (western) new year!
HAPPY Hannukah!!!
If I am a Christian,
and I say “Merry Christmas”,
it is simply me inviting you to enjoy the blessings of “my” belief.
If I am Jewish,
and I say “Happy Hanukkah”,
it is simply me inviting you to enjoy the blessings of “my” belief.
I have really never understood what the big deal is.
But, then, on the other hand, when it is my birthday,
I don’t wish for YOU to have a happy birthday...
So, I guess, I am sitting here arguing with myself about this...
U.S. President Harry S. Truman in the Oval Office, receiving a Hanukkah Menorah as a gift from the Prime Minister of Israel, David Ben-Gurion...
Oh, well so much for my diet!
