The U.N. General Assembly granted a request from North Korea and held a few moments of silence on Thursday for Kim Jong-il, the country's former leader who died on Saturday, though Western delegations boycotted it. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, president of the 193-nation assembly, called for a "minute of silence" before the start of a routine meeting at 3:00 p.m. EST in the half-empty U.N. General Assembly hall.
"It is my sad duty to pay tribute to the memory of the late Kim Jong-il, Secretary-General of the Workers Party of Korea, Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, who passed away on Saturday, December 17," he said.

Yes, the UN lost one of its prized murdering communist dictators. A high credential in the UN.

That wasn’t a minute of silence, it was a listing of his good points.

You have to ask yourself, what would it take for the U. N. to jump the shark in the minds of most people on the planet? Nothing it does seems to matter.
Hell, even in the U. S. it’s a wonderful organization to a lot of people.

Someone should have cranked on “Ghost Riders” by Johnny Cash during the “minute of silence.”

Exactly!! Worse still, we sit in silence while we give $6 to $7 BILLION to them annually. Most of which is spent on jet trips to exotic locations to plot their next anti-American Agenda 21 plans.

And they'll shriek squeaks and
squeals, racing 'round on their wheels.
They'll dance with jingtinglers tied onto their heels.
They'll blow their floofloovers. They'll bang their tartookas.
They'll blow their whohoopers. They'll bang their gardookas.
They'll spin their trumtookas. They'll slam their slooslunkas.
They'll beat their blumbloopas. They'll wham their whowonkas.
And they'll play noisy games like zoozittacarzay,
A roller-skate type of lacrosse and croquet!
And then they'll make ear-splitting noises galooks
On their great big electro whocarnio flooks!

I think the UN should move someplace where their warped sense of propriety will be more appreciated. Someplace like Iraq where the government is sophisticated enough to appreciate the talents of a dictator like Kim Jong-il. Didn’t Trump say he would pull US funding for the UN?
