The U.N. General Assembly granted a request from North Korea and held a few moments of silence on Thursday for Kim Jong-il, the country's former leader who died on Saturday, though Western delegations boycotted it. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, president of the 193-nation assembly, called for a "minute of silence" before the start of a routine meeting at 3:00 p.m. EST in the half-empty U.N. General Assembly hall.
"It is my sad duty to pay tribute to the memory of the late Kim Jong-il, Secretary-General of the Workers Party of Korea, Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, who passed away on Saturday, December 17," he said.

Couldn’t agree more. Are you sure it’s only $6 to 7 billion though? I thought it was more in the $25 - 40 billion range.
I’ve advocated that for decades, but I do believe it would cause some problems for us too. I don’t remember if Trump did.
The US pays for about 20% of everything the UN does. jeesh
I had thought it was more like 25%, but that’s bad enough. I think we have steadily been paying a smaller slice, but that begs the question who is paying more?
That’s $6 to $7 billion that we know about. Look what it took to find out the Fed was giving out Trillion’s of $$$.
By the way, they want a % of our GDP. I think it was 3%. That may not be such a hot idea the way things are going.

No, setting up and income stream for the U. N. is something we should NEVER agree to. We agree there.
