Economist and conservative author Thomas Sowell says voters should disregard Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich’s “baggage” and support the former House speaker because defeating President Obama in 2012 is crucial to America’s future.
Sowell cites Gingrich’s solid record of “concrete accomplishments,” which he argues makes him a stronger candidate than former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who pushed through one of the liberal healthcare programs in the nation.

He concludes: “Those who want to concentrate on the baggage in Newt Gingrich’s past, rather than on the nation’s future, should remember what Winston Churchill said: ‘If the past sits in judgment on the present, the future will be lost.’ If that means a second term for Barack Obama, then it means we’ve lost, big time.”

Sowell is extremely respected and he’s for Newt. But we don’t have to get Romney IF we’d stop falling into the Dems’ and media’s trap of in-fighting and letting our conservative vote be divided by candidates who don’t have a prayer of winning. Newt is the only one, imho, who can go head to head with BHO and take the fight to HIM without wavering, faltering or caving. I like Perry a whole lot, but we’ve had plenty of proof that he’d get rattled or tongue-tied when debating the slick rock star media darling BHO.
If we unite before it’s too late, they CAN’T force Romney down our throats and it’d teach the GOP elites and media a lesson in the process.
This woman is vile and vicious and she is not even close to as conservative as you give her credit for. And Santorum? (ROFLMAO!)

So Gingrich is the lesser of evils. Yes, I would rather have my left hand chopped off than my right hand. I mean, that is what we are working with here. Which bad candidate do you want to be stuck with, the outright liberal socialist or the New World Order insider?

Obama is a one-term wonder. The economy will defeat him. Doesn’t matter who the GOP run. Romney would beat him. Cain would beat him. Bachmann would beat him.
That is the source of my frustration. The GOP will win the 2012 presidency and we can’t do any better than the usual asshole RINOs. We have a lock on the presidency. Goldwater would win running as a GOP next year. Doesn’t matter. And what do we get? The same asswipe McConnel, Boehner, McCain, Trent Lott, Dennis Hastert, Bob Dole RINOs shoved down our throats.
I’m really pissed off at Palin. Really pissed off.
We are just screwed.
Not that Palin ever had a chance. The GOP establishment would have done everything they could to crush her. I’m still not convinced they would have succeeded.
