HBO Films seems to have two essential mission statements. First, to corner the market on Al Pacino’s good acting (see: Angels in America, You Don’t Know Jack, the upcoming Phil Spector biopic. Second, and more importantly, the moviemaking arm of the network appears to be constructing a complete chronology of American history, from the Revolution (John Adams) through the Great War (Band of Brothers, The Pacific), and right up to our disturbing modern moment (Recount, Too Big to Fail).
Next year’s Game Change is an intriguing new entry in the HBO History canon, adapting the addictive behind-the-scenes muckrake of the 2008 presidential campaign into a star-studded film. Intriguingly, the film apparently won’t follow the book’s fascinating portrayal of the Hillary Clinton-Barack Obama primary fight; instead, it will focus entirely on the eleventh-hour arrival of Governor Sarah Palin in John McCain’s campaign. The first trailer features Ed Harris as McCain, but predictably, Julianne Moore’s Palin steals the show. Watch below:

I smell a hit piece coming.
It would be epic if the actress quit halfway through.
The first hint ought to be that they could not come up with an actress who is at least as attractive as Governor Palin.
Julianne Moore is four years older than Palin, for Pete’s sake. And this film is dealing with events that took place four years ago! I can’t remember Hollywood ever choosing an actress who was OLDER than her subject.
Not nearly as pretty as Sarah. Can’t they do any better than that?
Whatever you do, don’t show her profile! It’s scary!

I think Julianne Moore is breathtakingly beautiful. Yet somehow HBO makes her up to look like another beautiful woman and she comes out looking not beautiful.

If I didn’t know this was a story about an actress playing Palin, I never would have known she was supposed to be portraying Palin. Not even with the glasses.
Last time I checked, "The Great War" was WWI.

They blew the attempt right out of the gate by putting thw wrong eyeglasses on her! I can hardly wait to miss it!
Julianne Moore is one of the few Hollyweirdo types that has improved with age (IMO).
If she’s had work done, she really should give her surgeon a shout out, he/she did a fine job.
And she is a real readhead, check out the flick “Short Cuts” for the evidence.
That being said, the actual SP is much more attractive.
