Did ESPN's Chris Berman Cry Over Tebow Ten Minute Film?
Vanity | 12-17-2011 | Self

I just saw the most stunning thing: ESPN's pre game show for the NFL just ran a ten minute clip of last week's Chicago-Denver football game featuring Tim Tebow (he wore mic for the game).

It was an amazing goose bump film, but the most amazing thing was the result of the normally hard panned ESPN crew of Chris Berman, Mike Ditka, Chris Carter, Keyshawn Johnson and Tom Jackson.

I think they were all on the verge of tears. Chris Berman could barely get the conversation going when the film was over. Am I imagining this?

(will post a video as soon as one hits - this was hot off the wire)

If anyone had question as to the seriousness of anyone on that panel, all they needed to do was to see the Sunday wrap up on ESPN late that night after the night game. Berman, Jackson and Dilfer did everything in their power to come up with a plausible (in their typical world) explanation why he keeps winning. They were all on the verge of blurting it out but they finally made the leap in today’s show. Berman’s last words on the segment said it all.

My boss is one of the coaches for our school football team which has in the last 8 years won 2 consecutive state titles twice. This past year we got runner-up.

Tebow came up at work last week and he said he likes Tebow so I asked him why. He said because Tebow gives 200% and that brings out the best in everybody around him.

What that video showed is that Tim Tebow is an encourager. He gives courage to the people around him. He gets his courage from his own walk with God, but it seems to me that he passes along that courage and hope to everybody around him, regardless of what their own faith or life is like.

I noticed that they didn't have to "bleep" a single word Tebow spoke.

Very rare for those kind of "mic'd up" stories.

Tim Tebow lives his faith. Clean and wholesome! No wonder the media hates him!

The truth has a certain ring to it....

That film goes much deeper than just another superstar in the NFL. Many of us have a deep rooted scar in our life. That is at times we feel alone or abandoned by God. This time of the year it affects people more than any other time. When you watch the video it rattles these old scars that our deep in the Souls of many people.

There is no reason why Tim Tebow should be winning. His stats are horrible to say at the very least. They are laughable! The ESPN crew knows this and can only come up with one conclusion of why Tim is winning.

So what does Tim Tebow do that is different from the other QBs in the NFL? He turns to the divine power of God that is within all of us. After all God did say I am the Alpha and the Omega. This is a gift that God has given all of us. The sooner we all realize this the better off we will all be.

Reminds me of an old quote,

“The Kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21

When you are filled with self doubt don't say “ I can't do it” or “I haven't got it in me”. That is exactly what you will get. Try saying “I can do it” or “I have it in me” and believe it in your heart and Soul.

“Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7

One reason we do get answers to our prayer is that we ask, but do not expect to receive in our hearts. In other words we are sending a mixed message. It's not just saying it. You have to believe in your heart Soul and don't stop believing. Ask and immediately conceive of ourselves as receiving. Do it as if it's already done. Knowing how it's going to be done is not important. Just move on and continue to believe it mind, heart and Soul.

THAT is what Tim Tebow does and everyone can see it.

Obermann was a bit player at ESPN. Berman apparently is not for talent.

I’ll be brief, because the thread is about Tebow and today’s NFL crew: you are wrong, Olbermann and Patrick were the top two studio hosts for Sports Center when they both left. I can’t stand Keith but he was one of the big timers at ESPN.

And Berman is a brilliant highlight guy, the best I’ve ever seen.

Now, back to our thread about Tebow, faith, and the incredible reaction we saw today.

I watched that clip last night. Amazing, just what I think of a really tuned in Christian, so positive.
Also watched You Can’t Take it With You yesterday. Every prayer, thanking and then “we leave the rest up to you”.

Wow,

1. Talent are generally bit players in media companies. Obermann left because they would not pay him. That sounds to me like they did not consider him very important. As I said, Berman seems to have some sway at ESPN for talent.

2. Berman is terrible at everything. He was ok decades ago, but terrible and tiresome now. So if you imagined Berman is anything more than a tired warn out old hack, yeah you were probably imagining him crying today.

You are way out of date, like 50 years. Talent rules now in movies, media, etc. And Olbermann left because he was totally leaving sports and going into political work.

But go ahead and downplay these two because they are libs - or maybe because you are a frustrated sports caster wanna be - but take it elsewhere.

Sure mister moderator. I’ll go elsewhere while you imagine how fresh and amusing Berman is. LOL.

ESPN’s most curious character is Smith. One minute he’s a hard core pro rapper NBA groupie - the next he’s agreeing with Mark Levin or Sean Hannity on their shows (does ESPN know this?).

The Tebow controversy has greatly raised the profile of Smith (and his antagonist Skip Bayliss’) profiles in the media. Smith’s mood this week will be determined 100% by what happens with Broncos Patriots.

Berman crying? He probably just read Tebow’s pass completion stats...the worst in the NFL.

God gives wealth for three reasons:

1) To advance His Kingdom

2) To meet the needs of others

3) So that we may enjoy life.

Wealth comes in many forms: gold, cattle, houses & lands, intellectual or physical abilities.

If we use the gifts He has given us, in accordance with His priorities then we do end up fulfilling all of these uses for wealth.

Tim Tebow is a good example of this, just as he prays that he will be.

My spouse attended graduation ceremonies yesterday, and I asked for the “story” as he always has a humerous take on something that happens at graduations at the university. He said that yesterday, many students were Tebowing for their picture after they received their diplomas.

I pray that God puts a wall of protection around Tebow. Satan would love to get him to stumble.

On a Tebow thread last week someone posted a photo of Tim standing next to a very lovely, very buxom young lady with a fair amount of skin on display. The poster asked if this were Tebow’s girlfriend.

My first though was, “Naaa, she’s a babe, but not Tebow’s type”. After reading that she was a model or beauty pageant winner and upon further reflection, I thought, “Somebody sent her up to get an autograph/photo taken, hoping for a “Gotcha” photo of Tebow checking out her very visible, very ample cleavage.”

The young man needs to be very, very careful. He also needs some good friends “watching his 6”.
