--Olive Garden's struggles continue to weigh down Darden's earnings
--Darden says Olive Garden didn't change with the times coming out of recession

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Darden Restaurants Inc.'s DRI -.00% fiscal second-quarter earnings fell 28% on continued woes at the casual-dining company's Olive Garden restaurant chain.
Over the past year, Darden, which also owns Red Lobster and Longhorn Steakhouse, has struggled to garner momentum for Olive Garden, its largest chain, chalking up the sales and traffic declines to promotional misfires and increased competition.

Moochelle and her flop earred commie hubby are never good for business. LOL
Everything they touch turns to sh*t.

The food is pretty lousy IMHO.

LOL, If you own a business and the Obama’s come calling, you know it is soon to be all over.
just a factoid
I was going to say a combination of horrible service and crappy food.
The last two times I tried the OG I walked out before getting food. 1 time is a server issue, twice in a row is a management issue.
Nearest OG is 2 hour drive no matter which direction I go... so going to OG is a treat for me.

When people find out this unelected woman is meddling in a business, they just boycott the place.
Funny thing is that it isn’t like it is some planned effort.
People just know if Moochelle is screwing around with a place, they aren’t interested.
A kiss of death.
I’m partially responsible for this.
I asked for seconds, thirds, ad infinitum on their Never Ending Pasta Bowl. (Which actually ended recently.)
They also let me take home what I couldn’t finish, unlimited salad included. So they definitely lost money on me.
I LOVE good Italian food.
I went to Olive Garden once.
That was enough...
maybe more than enough!
Can’t really feel much pity for them after they let Moochelle tell them how much people need to eat and not letting the American Flag into the restaurant!

I don’t like chain restaurants, but Olive Garden is the one I can stand. It would never be my first choice, but if I’m forced to go to a chain, I will go there without complaining. I don’t understand the comments about crappy food, I never had anything that wasn’t good. Just the endless salad bowl and breadsticks is enough. I say this only because it’s one company and their other places are really crappy. But I don’t understand the attacks on Olive Garden’s food. Their policies, their politics, now that’s another matter.
we patronize OG in Kokomo, Indiana...a little wait for the food, but otherwise, everything is great!!!
