The Tebow mania sweeping the nation sacked a group of Long Island high-school students who were suspended for mimicking the quarterbacks famous prayer pose.
Twin brothers Tyler and Connor Carroll of Riverhead HS and classmates Jordan Fulcoly and Wayne Drexel were hit with one-day suspensions for kneeling and bowing their heads like Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow does when he scores a touchdown.
Administrators said the weeklong Tebowing craze was a distraction and a hallway hazard after dozens of classmates followed their lead.
It was basically just a tribute to Tim Tebow, Carroll Connor, 17, who planned the prank with his brother and friends, told The Post.
It was more than a religious thing. There was some of that involved obviously, because he prays. I guess it was basically like a moment of silence.
I just dont think its fair, said Connor, a senior linebacker, of the school throwing the penalty flag.
We were never given any warning. They said they did, but thats completely false.
The brothers have to serve their suspensions; the others were rescinded because the other participants had not been given warnings, officials said.
About 40 students had been gathering in the hallway all week emulating Tebow.
School administrators said the stunt jammed the hallway, making students late for class, and was a fire hazard.

It’s difficult to believe a single word of this article.
They should have worn gay pride shirts while doing this. That would have been the scorn-proof armor they needed.
Nah, they should have bowed towards Mecca. That probably would have been acceptable.
Meanwhile......
6th graders from Wellesley, MA middle school were taken on a class trip to a moderate mosque in May. The boys and girls were separated and the boys then joined Muslim men in a prayer to Allah. This was a public school field trip to the largest mosque in the Northeast. Teachers did not intervene. Parents were not told.
Unlike handing out free condoms.
If nothing else, Tebow is making Christianity popular again. It’s sad how fickle Americans are when it comes to religion, but if one football player can bring faith back into the public discussion, I support him 100%!
Tebow destroyed my Noles during his tenure at UF, but I respect the kid for his heart and his faith. He is unshakeable. Sunday’s game against the Pats is going to be one to watch!
It's a safety issue and our administrators have to force compliance. Zero Tolerance. I'm all for compliance to authority that's why I respect law enforcement officers so much. They display such common sense.

Sorry, I should have expounded.
They were reported as MOCKING Tebow....
Wouldn’t that be something that public school administration would be supportive of — mocking a Christian?
Or perhaps the students were inspired and EMULATING Tebow? THAT would explain suspensions.
Once I saw the inconsistency, I found it difficult to believe anything else.
If they are praying, great. If they are mocking, bad. Regardless, they were blocking the hall and should have moved to the side. What bugs me the most however, is the guy complaining “Its not fair, they didn’t even give us a warning.” Wake up kid. Life ain’t fair.

Freedom of speech is one thing; but disrupting or creating a safety hazard in schools, is wrong.
Somebody quick get word to all the students at that school. Tell them that if EVERYONE there Tebows, they will all be suspended and school will then let out early for the CHRISTmas holidays!
Boy i wish I were still in school. I’d be leading this movement.
That’s what I was thinking - if their asses were in the air while they bowed to Mecca, the school would have been too cowardly to even take notice.
On a leftist site that I sometimes visit (with my cross and garlic necklace) they are ripping him for being a virgin. Calling him queer.
Isn’t that typical of lefties? They support anything gay but use it to disparage this young man.
My Husband went hermatile on our son’s 7th grade math teacher for telling the class that what Bill Clinton did w/ Monica wasn’t wrong becasue it was a personal choice. The teacher claimed that it was to “open up dialogue in the class”.
I can’t imagine what would happen if our kids were in this classroom.
I am really sorry that I posted the reply on the wrong thread-It was meant for the story re: the students visiting a mosque with out the parents knowing.
That seems a bit of a "stretch" by the school administrators. Question is, what will they do if the boys serve the supension and do it again? Then it starts to look anti-religious.
My, have times changed.
In the mid-seventies when I went to high school, the hallway conduct was a little different. The senior guys would line up against a big window and wait for a freshmen boy to pass by. When one did, one senior would nonchalantly walk up to him, then do a quick punch into his groin, which would set off a huge round of laughter.
And, yes, I got punched once when I was a freshmen. Learned my lesson. Next time I walked down the hall, I covered my groin area with my science book. Worked like a charm...
