This is the sickening moment a group of men thought to be U.S. soldiers cheer on a man as he beats a sheep to death with a baseball bat.
The horrific video, which was posted on YouTube, shows the cowering animal suffer a merciless assault that lasts less than 30 seconds.
It is claimed that the footage was shot in Afghanistan last month.

There’s something really disturbing about people who relish in and take pleasure from either the suffering of an animal or another person. I’m not going to subject myself to the video, but it saddens me the pain this sheep had to go through for a Muslim holiday festival and the twisted pleasure of some onlookers.
Being from a farming family, killing animals happen. Common sense approach is to make it quick.

Those who object to this brutality don’t fully grasp what Afghanistan is. Human life has zero value there, and animals are food, if you are lucky enough to have animals. Pain and suffering mean nothing there.
It is a horrific place, really. On the plains, in summer there can be 120F temperatures with 100mph winds and the sand will strip the paint off a vehicle. In winter, the mountains are covered with thick snow, and you survive or die based on the supplies you have when stranded, because you can’t get out, and nobody can get in.
The average life expectancy is 45 years, the worst in the world except for Angola, for men and women. The have the world’s highest maternal death rate, their infant mortality rate is #2 behind Angola.
Only 28% of Afghans are literate. They get an average of only 9 years of schooling. Much of this is just memorizing the Koran.
If I saw a sheep with a baseball bat, I might beat it to death, too.
On a more series note, I wonder if the sheep was hanging around with Christians.

While I don’t see the point in beating an animal to death with a bat I don’t have the same consternation if one was used on islam.
