While I long for Sarah to run, I know that's not happening. While I long for her to stay involved and energize the base of conservatives, I don't see that happening either. So I ask my fellow freepers, what in the world is going on or not going on with her? Once in a while, we get a facebook post or tweet, but these have been weaker and I can only wonder if the MSM/Soros/Obama/Chicago machine has done their dirty work. I don't believe for a second that Rice or Todd's business partner innuendos are real, but they did their damage. I don't see her getting paid to talk and we hear from her less. This sucks and I hope I'm wrong because her voice will be needed to endorse someone soon (likely after Iowa and SC and NH are done)...perhaps 1 primary sooner, not sure. But she'd been blunted so much now that not sure if the endorsement won't get muddled in all the bickering we're doing amongst ourselves. I see a sorry scenario if Newt wins and she endorses him he still is looked at as not conservative enough and the MSM goes to town and we continue to be splintered on FREEP and not unified...that would suck! Unity against the common enemy, the commie Obama, is critical for defeating him.
I would assume that she has her hands full, raising teenagers, and dealing with a growing child with Downs Syndrome. Those are pretty demanding activities.
At this time she doesn't want to be a distraction. IMHO
My theories are no more valid than yours. I think that she realizes that she had her moment in the sun and that moment is gone.
I think Palin has a lot of family and personal problems - troubles in her marriage and rebellious kids. I strongly suspect that is why she didn’t run, because as bad as she is treated in the press now, it would be much, much worse if she were a candidate.
Last we heard she was shopping another reality show about Todd and snow machine races.
She still has her FOX contract too. So....she is getting paid plenty for appearing there.
Is she physically ill?
She was pitching a new reality TV show last I read. Sounds like it was about Todd racing snowmobiles or something, but so far no networks have shown much interest.
Other than that I expect she will continue giving some speeches, making endorsements now and again and otherwise trying to push the conservative cause where she can.
People are just going to have to accept that there is no grand plan, she isn’t “up to” anything, there is no Sun Tzu strategy, etc, etc. Sarah decided she could do her best work as a political commentator and I’d guess that is exactly what she plans to do for the next few years. She is still very young and could end up running in 2016 or 2020 if she wants to actually get serious about it.
Making a living, working for fox news, nothing wrong with that. She probably gets 5000 + each time she appears on fox. Not a bad deal.
And now she has a lot of money for those things, which she never would have had if she hadn´t taken us all for a ride.
¨Game on, Mr President.¨ ´But by someone else. Not me.´
What a crock.
Palin made her choice; she is now a non-entity politically speaking.
But your statement quoted above contains seeds of wisdom and a battle plan!
It is critical....for the first time since the Revolutionary War....to get to the polls and choose wisely and well.
That is to say....regardless of what, when, who, or why from the right...it is imperative that all of us - repeat ALL OF US - get to the polls next November, and vote AGAINST the stain.
It is that simple....and that critical.
I think Palin has a lot of family and personal problems - troubles in her marriage and rebellious kids. I strongly suspect that is why she didnt run, because as bad as she is treated in the press now, it would be much, much worse if she were a candidate.
I suspect that she is quietly taking notes on all the Republican candidates and their enemies. I expect her to help the nominee by fighting the smears that are going to be hurled at him/her.
Are you?
Troubles in her marriage? Where do you get that from?
That has been my take on it.
The natural order of loyalties is: 1) God, 2) Family, 3) Country.
Sarah has chosen the better thing, and although it saddens me on a selfish level, I should rejoice that she has chosen to honor God above men.
I imagine that she’s chuckling at the gullibility
of her fans while gloating over her cleverness.
And preening, lots of preening.
I remember reading in "Going Rogue" that when she first heard the rumor that she was divorcing Todd her thought was: "Have you SEEN Todd?"
She still retains that little bit of teenager in her - delightful.
Several months ago there was surprisingly little reported article that she and her husband had split. Not long afterwards, I saw her doing an interview and she was not wearing a wedding ring. Her purchase of a house in Arizona could be connected with this. I haven’t heard anything since, but if you see her check and see if she is wearing a ring.
What is she doing now. Probably enjoying some down time with the family. Fulfilling her contract with FNC and a few speaking engagements.
I look for her to come back in the spring and endorse Tea Party candidates like she did in 2010.
The presidential campaign? I hope she stays pout of it until it's pretty much decided. Then I'd like to see her campaign for the nominee (if asked).
But if we get to the convention and it's deadlocked I say lock the doors and don't let her out until she says she will take the ball and run. But that's just MHO.
