The article you are referencing was a piece of liberal bull crap. While the libs were indeed doing their very best to drive a wedge between her and Todd and to break up their marriage, she often took her wedding ring off during public functions because her fingers swelled from all the hand shaking she had to do. Abe Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt suffered from the same problem too.

As for the Arizona house, I have no doubt that the Palins had planned to use it as a base of operations from which to run a potential presidential campaign before she ultimately decided not to run. McCain probably had a hand in the purchase too because it's not too far from his ranch.

She probably got tired of being kicked and trashed treated like garbage and decided to take care of her own family and wait until it’s Claire Wolfe time.

I remember reading in "Going Rogue" that when she first heard the rumor that she was divorcing Todd her thought was: "Have you SEEN Todd?"

After going through a number of stages in my thoughts about Palin, I think you're onto something there.

Todd seems to be a lot of things, but most of all traditional. As prepared as all the rest of us were to accept (heck, draft) Palin as a leader of the free world, I'm thinking what it all might boil down to is, what we were prepared for, might not be something Todd was well and truly prepared for.

Sarah, recognizing that, may have decided she had a choice to make, and chose that same guy she's in love with.

Lucky guy.

Maybe she has just given up on saving a bunch of people from committing suicide, when they are bound and determined that is what they want to do.

#1 she resonated with a large segment of the patriotic Americans

#2 she took terrible punishment from the MSM and the left (they are the same)

#3 she realized what the price of public office on a national scale really was, and it was not worth it.

#4 THIS IS THE REASON THE RIGHT PEOPLE WILL NOT RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE.

You tell me what we need to do to fix this.

Revolt? Our overlords just said they would put us in Gitmo. (tongue in cheek)

It is time to clean house in DC.

It is TIME to DownSize DC!!

Dems and Pubbie Traitors. Our next shot is Nov 2012

Being dumber than a box of rocks plus psycopathic isn't a pretty thing.......

I wouldn't go that far, I don't think she's particularly dumb.

Psychopathic maybe but not dumb.

She actually told people on many occasions that she really didn’t like the constrictions of elected office. She wants to say and do what she wants.

But they didn’t listen and still don’t. She doesn’t want the job of President or she would have entered early on.

She obviously really enjoys the glam of TV and media more.

Nothing wrong with that. Just an observation.

Much of America, including many staunch conservatives, never bought into Palin’s shell game. Those of you who did never read the signs correctly and projected much of what you wanted onto her.

A candid look at her activities since quitting in Alaska shows that the overwhelming expense of energy was not on running for office but on making money and ginning up the palin brand.

There was no mistaking this when she spent the time and money to actually trademark the name (and screwed the application up the first time).

The lustre was long gone and the utter failure of her over-hyped movie proved that America just doesn’t care. she saw the writing on the wall (finally) and quit the fight (again). None of this was a surprise to many of us.

Palin never was what you seem to have wanted her to be.

If your premise is true, then Palin’s writing was a fraud and so was she. This is impossible due to the content of her writing and willingness to say what she said in front of a camera. Being jaded is one thing, calling her a fraud is another.

There is no perfect candidate. Let’s put our families in her shoes...could we take it? I doubt it.

I appreciate everything folks have said in this lively discussion; I believe no matter the differences, we have to rid our great country of the Commie-in-chief before the country is gone.

Cannot say I understand how anyone can reach the thought of suicide, but just guessing that if someone were and along came a helpful and inspiring stranger to try to prevent that - and that helpful and inspiring stranger then decided not to be there for them, the result might be a bit worse than it would have been originally.

Palin seems a good person, who tries to do what is right.

Not sure, she did though. Would prefer if she’d jump back into the mix, we really need a champion.

How so? You didn't seem to mind when it was said about me.

"That's a pretty shallow answer on Palin's part, don't you think?"

Did 'ya even read the book, or are you just slingin' it?
If you DID read the book and still ask that, I'd have to question your reading comprehension skills.

Didn’t see that, sorry.

If you were called that, that also was uncalled for.

My apologies. :D

Well, she could... but it’s going to be very hard for me to be able to forgive her for leaving us with this set of clowns as our current crop of candidate

My guess is she just isn't that interested in running for President, so she may not do it in 2016 or beyond either. I think she wants to both help advance conservative change and give her family a good life. She can do both things as a paid political commentator.

A lot of people were simply reading way too much into her every word than what was really there. That is why so many set themselves up for a big let down. There was never some grand strategy, or Sun Tzu like plan, etc. It was pretty obvious she was doing none of the things necessary to run a real presidential campaign by early summer, but rather than see the reality of the situation many people chose to see her as some political savior and attribute far ranging, genius political strategies to her that were never there. Too many folks were building Palin up into something they wished she would be, instead of just accepting her as she actually is.

You must just be looking for an issue with her. A deeper, more serious answer is no more merited than if someone had asked if Todd had stopped beating her.

Please knock it off.
