Researchers from the University and the Mayo Clinic in Arizona have developed a vaccine that dramatically reduces tumors in a mouse model that mimics 90 percent of human breast and pancreatic cancer cases—including those resistant to common treatments.
The vaccine, described this week in the early edition of the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, reveals a promising new strategy for treating cancers that share the same distinct carbohydrate signature, including ovarian and colorectal cancers.

These publicity articles never mention the negatives. This vaccine may never be approved.
The vaccine will be available to the public in about 20 years.
Why are you guys denigrating the thread? I think it’s great news. Sort of an out of the box approach.
Now it may take a long time to get it to the public, if ever.
Do any of you think that the American Cancer Society and related charitable bureaucracies have a financial interest in delaying any cure?

If someone develops a way to get the body to do some of the work on a molecular scale, I am all for it, as well as quite a few other folk who have ovarian, pancreatic, breast or other similar adenomas, or have a loved one who does.
If it must be 20 years, that would suck most assuredly, however, the ball needs to get rolling in another direction than the current one.
Our family are veterans to cancer. I am just jaded because they will not rush these new procedures through and get them to market. Maybe my sister would be getting ready to have Christmas with us.
We all want them to rush new procedures through, but we all also can think of numerous times that rush resulted in some serious harm
I welcome any new and innovative ideas and plans, but I would certainly give them a thorugh scoping, and yeah, test stuff on mice and other critters before giving humans pills and injections, to see if they work as intended.
No its the government and the FDA that hold up cures that could be saving lives. Any type of breakthrough like this should be fast tracked. I hate to be jaded but I’ve been through the process and if some simple vaccine or immuno therapy becomes available to cure cancer quickly and cheaply its going to put a whole multi billion dollar industry out of business. I hate think that has anythng to do with dragging feet but it probably does.
If I had stage four cancer I would let them test it on me in a heartbeat. They need to take volunteers. That would speed things up.
