Dems Release Their Own Congressional Map

Democrats have strongly criticized the congressional map unveiled yesterday by Harrisburg Republicans. Well-grounded accusations of partisanship fill the air.

So Senate Democrats have released their own version. The caucus will introduce the map below as an amendment to SB 1249 at some point Wednesday.

Since Republicans have the Governor’s mansion and majorities in the Pa. House and Senate, it’s unlikely to go anywhere. But it’s interesting to look at.The full map is below. Bless them for including municipal breakdowns.

It raises an interesting question: can Dems still complain about gerrymandering when their maps looks like this?

The same Dems that were complaining about how bad and gerrymandered the GOP's map was, came out with their own map. Not that it matters much, Dems control nothing right now in PA. It just shows how hypocritical they are. Not that I didn't already know that. I have already seen tons of that in the past three years.

I love hearing the ‘rats cry. Now, if we could only figure how to gerrymander Philadelphia and a good chunk of Delaware County to New Jersey.

“District 12” on the Dem map is a work of art. It starts from the southwest corner of PA and doesn’t include a single county in its entirety (of the 15 that it is comprised of) as it stretches to within a few miles of the the middle of the southern New York state border.

Nobody seems to ever point out that when Dems are in control, they gerrymander the heck out of districts themselves for their own self-interests. Yet, it’s only ever an issue when Republicans do it.

LOL, just wishful thinking. Maybe there can be new state that includes Camden, Chester and Philadelphia, come up with a third ‘C’ city and it could be called CCCP, and not a part of the US.
