No one could have known that when a Tunisian fruit vendor set himself on fire in a public square, it would incite protests that would topple dictators and start a global wave of dissent. In 2011, protesters didnt just voice their complaints; they changed the world.

The shriveled, old commies at Time are trying to pump life into the moribund neo-hippy movement.
Won’t work, you old commie cranks. Lenin is still dead, and nobody cares.
Long live Che!! Oops, he’s dead, too.
Well, there’s a few old Khmer Rouge mass murderers on trial that Time could worship and praise like it did in the 1970s. Long live Pol Pot!!!
The Year of the Protester?...What bullcrap!...Get a job!
Don’t underestimate the power of Time magazine. After all this same magazine “warned” us about Hitler, Stalin, Khrushchev, Baby Boomers ;-), Khomenei, Gorbachev, the endangered planet Earth, Clinton, Arafat, Putin and Obama.
they officially jumped the shark back when they picked the computer
Time makes poor toilet paper - the pages are too slick.

“Person of the Year” is not an honor, nor is it meant to be.
It is, rather, just a statement of fact.

That’s why bad guys sometimes get named “Person of the Year.” There is a difference between a designation and an “honor.”
There was a day I read Time and Newsweek cover to cover!!!!!! then I ‘grew up' and learned right from wrong...or maybe right from left!
Funny how the MSM never accorded the much larger, much deeper and much more mainstream Tea Party similar honors.
Rebels without a cause. The perfect choice for Time.
Then explain why the Tea Party didn’t even finish in the top three for 2010? It is a “statement of fact” per Time’s liberal democrat editors.
Right?
Right!
this is research/search engine jamming.
This is a blatent effort to conceal the impitus of the real outrage embodied in the tea party.
For time to cite Greece is a joke, they have protests on a regular bases as a national hobby. Everywhere else in the world protests are sop.
OWS were too stupid to realize the real trading is done on computers in NJ!
Time magazine can not die fast enough.
To be fair, they also include the types who raped Laura Logan, CBS News reporter (and other women).
Occupy Wall Street is the most over-hyped movement that I can remember.
