No one could have known that when a Tunisian fruit vendor set himself on fire in a public square, it would incite protests that would topple dictators and start a global wave of dissent. In 2011, protesters didnt just voice their complaints; they changed the world.

Protesters NOT considered by Time:
1) Pro Life Protesters
2) PRO 2nd Amendment Protesters
3) Inner City Protesters of DC protesting the removal of the school vouchers program
4) Supporters of the Fair Tax
5) Those protesting against a mosque near the former twin towers
6) Anyone protesting outside the EPA
7) Christians protesting against gay marriage
8) ANYONE praying on the US Capitol grounds
9) Those protesting against the IRS
10) ANYONE protesting against Obama
All protesters are equal although some are more equal than others.
I wonder did TIME realize that the seeds of the current protest movement started with start of the Tea Party movement in March 2009?
They demand entitlement to their double standards! How do you go about doing business with that other than to destroy it?

Time magazine names Occupy Wall Street the No. 1 U.S. news story of 2011.
In the category of comedy, perhaps!
But seriously, I wonder who the "Person of the year will be"? Some stinkin' OWS hippy?

Wow! I might be the next Nostradamus! Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket
Or just put that picture onto their cover for "Protester of the Year" replacing whatever is there now. That's the first copy of TIME I would buy, then I'd frame it and put it in my office.
You forgot the protest against obamacare.
I won’t read Time’s propaganda, but for those who have, can you let me know if Tea Party protesters are mentioned?
Scanned through the Time article. Only saw one reference to Tea Party Protesters that said they stopped after the 2010 Republican takeover of the House. I guess in Time’s opinion they aren’t really as “valid” as OWS.
Shows how very important M/PoTY is. No one remembers just last year.
The actually mentioned the Tea Party this morning on the news as being instrumental in kicking the whole thing off.
If the OWS morons decide to set themselves on fire, I'll bring the marshmallows!
Didn’t Time sell for a dollar? Buyer got ripped off if you ask me.
When the Tea Party was building and changing the United States, we had Time Person of the Year 2009 Ben Bernake for creating an all-time world record deficit with his mismanagement, and Mark Zuckerberg for creating FaceBook. Today’s protesters are unsanitary parasites in the United States and terrorists or their sympathizers and enablers in the Arab world, and Time is celebrating that? Pathetic. I don’t see any reason to read Time. Ever.
You mean the protesters in Egypt who led the way for the Jew-hating Muslim Brotherhood to take over?
Exactly.
“They havent changed anything, nor will they.”
That includes their socks and underwear!
For some strange reason seeing Time Magazine gives me a toothache.
As others have already posted on this site, TIME magazine has no impact whatsoever!!! No need to comment further, other then to state TIME has nary a clue about the reality of the world. It joins Newsweek and other print media as worthless for objectivity!!! End of story!!!
they don’t even try anymore, do they?
