DES MOINES, Iowa If Iowa voters are going to give Gov. Rick Perry the second look he wants, there's not much time for browsing.
With just three weeks before the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses, the governor is embarking on an old-fashioned bus tour through the Hawkeye State, hoping his natural ability to connect with voters will keep his struggling campaign alive.
Perry has scheduled nearly 50 events between Wednesday and Jan. 2. By the time the tour ends, he will have visited some 42 towns and cities.
Being on a bus in a state like Iowa, it just allows us to get to more stops and more places. It allows people driving down the road in Iowa to honk and wave, said Perry campaign manager Rob Johnson. Theres an excitement and an energy. Were excited about the next couple of weeks.

I'm glad to see that Gov. Perry is doing so much better. What I hate is that the late-night comics have latched on to him and are attempting to "Palinize" him. I'm hoping and praying they will be forced to eat their words and call him "President Perry" January 20, 2013.
Both the quality and the quantity of people who seem to enjoy getting on Perry threads to annoy people seems to be declining.
Jose Cuevas - hey, you’re a friend of mine.
Yes. I definitely encourage CW also to keep posting Perry articles. They usually attract a large number of posters, most of whom are supporters of Perry and want to read about him.
Whether they are in the sidebar or not, I don’t care. I usually notice them or get pinged to them and I NEVER pay any attention to the sidebar.
Try standing waiting to be checked out at Macy’s! Do they advertise for simple minded clerks who speak no known language and can’t operate the Macy’s elaborate check out system? But I digress! LOL
Ron Paul is the scariest candidate to me. He’s always had his little band of brothers, but I am terrified that his support this go round will go to his head and he will run third party.
There are a couple of things that could destroy our chance of getting rid of Obama.
One would be Mitt and the other (and worse) would be a Ron Paul run as third party.
I wasn’t attempting to speak for you, as some of the Perrybots were inferring. I expressed a point that quite a number of FReepers are fed up with scores of Perry worship threads... a candidate who is far from a “Conservative”, and the AM also got after CW for her abuse of placing the articles where they didn’t belong as spam.
The first question answers itself. I’m disappointed you’ve been fooled by this charlatan. You’re smarter than that.
There are FReepers with whom I was friendly for years who now turn their noses up at me because I didn't fall down and worship Sarah Palin and then follow the lemmings over to Herman Cain. And they're still miffed because they were unable to intimidate me in to doing so. Sad to say, these people have now earned my disdain and contempt.
Don't get me wrong; I liked Palin and I certainly would have voted for Cain if he'd stayed in and gotten the nomination, despite some reservations. But the screechy, almost cultish behavior of some on here was disgusting to watch.
Would I like to see someone like Jim DeMint in there or maybe even Paul Ryan? You betcha.
The reality is that we've got the field that's there and in my opinion, Governor Perry has the strongest combination of conservatism and valid leadership experience. He's far from perfect, but we could do a hell of a lot worse.
None of them are perfect. But reading some of the folks on here over the past few months, you'd think one or two of them (who are not in the current field) were gods.
We suffered enough worshipful threads on those folks, and in fact are still seeing worshipful threads on one of ‘em, so you really need to be more fair about this. There's no need for you to tell some other FReeper what to do, particularly when it's based solely on bias. You don't own this place and neither do I.
Consider me ‘fooled by this charlatan’.
Sorry you wasted fine words on someone whose ears are glued shut with his index fingers to a man who is going to repeal, revoke, renege every nasty little and huge offense zero has inflicted upon our United States.
