Reid: "The Republicans say the richest of the rich in our country, even those who make millions every year, shouldn’t contribute more to get our economy back on track. They call our plan, time after time, a tax on job creators, and I say so-called “job creators.” Because I say that, Mr. President, every shred of evidence contradicts this red herring.

For example, there have been many outlets, but I’ll concentrate on one. National Public Radio went looking for one of these fictitious millionaire job creators. A reporter reached out to the business groups and a tax lobby in the Republican Congress hoping to interview one of these millionaires. Days ticked by with no luck. Many of our job creators are like unicorns, they're impossible to find and don't exist.

That’s because only a tiny fraction of people making more than a million dollars, probably less than one percent, are actually small business owners and only a tiny fraction of that tiny fraction is a traditional job creator."

Notice the absolute LIE in Harry Reid’s logic:

1. He says “millionaire” job creators do NOT exist

2. Then “proves” it by saying they can’t find anyone “earning more than a million dollars a year” who simply owns a small business.

What a cowardly distortion! There is a big difference between a “millionaire” (e.g. Net Worth) and someone earning more than a million/year (Annual Income). Unless he doesn't know that (doubtful), he's deliberately twisting the argument.

There are many more millionaires by net worth than people with an annual income of $1 million or more.

Furthermore, doesn’t he realize that someone making $1 million or more per year is probably the head of a mid-to-large corporation??

They create (“or save” hahah!) yet even more jobs total than a small business does.

And while we're at it, why can’t we use the same greasy term they use about “Jobs Created or Saved” for big businesses who “RETAIN” jobs??

I think recent millionaires Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, et al, created millions of jobs, not just in their own companies and spinoffs, but created entire new industries and revolutionized many others.

Same can be said for the self-made millionaires, industrialists and capitalists before them that made America.

Don't exist, eh? One of my jobs in a previous life was helping manage the family farm of one of my friends from grad school. His parents built the farm up from essentially nothing and had a net worth of over $1 million when they passed on and handed the business over to their son and daughter. They continued the business and at one time directly employed about a dozen people, not counting the indirect jobs their business supported. So I guess it will come as a surprise to my friend and his sister to find out that Harry Reid says their parents never existed. Coulda fooled me.
