LOS ANGELES – Officials identified Saturday the gunman who opened fire on a busy Hollywood street but were still searching for a motive behind the brazen daylight rampage, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Tyler Brehm, 26, was shot dead by police after he walked to the corner of Sunset and Vine streets early Friday morning and began firing shots at passing cars and bystanders. Brehm allegedly unloaded about a dozen shots and caused panic in the area before a SWAT team and other police moved in, gunning him down.
The fatal shot may have come from a detective and an off-duty officer working on a movie set nearby.

Still no mention of him yelling “allahu akbar?” Notice how they had the body of the perp covered while the body of the victim was uncovered. Only took them two days to find a suitable “replacement” killer?
I’d check the lists of suicides in the LA area for someone with an Islamic name...if I was on the case.
I read a news article about the shooting in today’s Long Beach Press Telegram. Nothing about “Alahu akbar.”

On his Facebook page...he stated that he was a fan of ‘Family Guy’ and ‘CSPAN’...does this mean that we can now hold these programs responsible for this shooting/death? (liberal mode)
He really doesn’t look like an allahu akbar kinda guy. Looks more like a suicide by cop situation.

Thanks for posting that, as it makes some seemingly bizarre comments in threads on the Va Tech shooter more understandable, on the assumption that some folks are getting the two mixed up.
No, but if he wasn't a Muslim we will probably soon be told that he was a Christian and member of the Tea Party who listens to Rush Limbaugh, watches Fox News, and is anti-abortion. Weren't we told something like that about Jered Loughner and that murderer in Norway? None of it was true of course but it seems to be the current template for the media.

Also, the rumors about him yelling “Alahu akbar.” are also valid. Face it, if there's violence, the first thing the MSM comes up with is that it's some nutty right winger... and it never is...

Actually, it was one of the witnesses who said he yelled “allahu akbar.” Maybe the witness misunderstood him, maybe he was just yelling it because it flashed across his mind as a scary thing to say, or maybe he was influenced by images of Muslim terrorists blowing away innocent people. He was also heard screaming something about wanting to die.
The thing with Islam is that it so closely resembles mental illness that sometimes it’s hard to tell the two apart...

Color me unimpressed by the witness account. The guy barely spoke English himself. Now if there were other witnesses who heard the same thing; that would be a different matter. But from what I’ve read, other witnesses said the guy was screaming “I want to die”.
The guy’s girl friend just broke up with him, something he posted on his FB page along with his interests: “friendship, family, money, success and "things that go fast"”
Doesn’t sound much like a Jihadist to me. More like suicide by cop.
