This poor Perry is the Republican Obama. Except that we in blogs and the media seem to have more fervor in ridiculing him instead of the SMARTEST MAN in the World, OBAMA, that is to say. This week he didn’t even know that he was in KANSAS, referring to Texas, early on he bragged about visiting all 57 states, and the list as visitors to this blog are well aware goes on and on (Corpse man, e.g.). But in each and every case he was given a pass, not even mentioned in some blogs and the MSM.

As we all know, the operative number is 5 (five, any five) and they are still unelected with even less resources and knowledge that the (mostly ignorant) 535 elected members have.

Now I assume that we shall have to put up with MSM (including Fox) will tear up Newt for an accurate but ill advised statement (ill advised only because he was not asked to clarify something for those not as well read in historical facts as he. They are Arabs and consider themselves as such. Just recall the dancing in the street when the news of the victims of 9-11 was made known.

signing myself (I will vote for any Republican against Obama)

That excerpt of a video in the comment section of #1 is a short excerpt from the entire 1hr, 4min, 11sec. interview in which Perry talks about the school prayer issue and the decision by eight judges somewhere around the 33 minute mark. I’ve linked that entire interview twice on this thread.

Maybe a lawyer can answer this, but seems to me if you have only 8 justices, tied 4-4, the lower court opinion holds. Might not be what you really want. Tho, in this case, if the 1 abstention were Sotomayor, a full court would have rendered a 5-4 decision, so same difference. Once again, it may all hang on Kennedy.

“It’s one of the reasons I’ve called for doing away with the federal government.”

I would have thought that sentence would get more attention than the number of SCOTUS Justices.

Wow, poor unused sticker.

Why do I kinda doubt the existence of that poor, unused sticker?

I must just be a nasty cynic.

Wouldn’t we all just love to forget her name and forget that we will have to look at her forever (Sotomeyer).

We should not have to look at a Supreme Court Justice forever, even if it’s one I like very much.

Ruth Bader Ginsbergh comes to mind and some of them were probably senile and still sitting there.

Term limits for all judges is just another good idea by Rick Perry.

I think I spelled two names wrong in this post and I DON’T CARE.

This is exactly what they tried to do to Sarah Palin.

Distort her remarks and try to make her sound stupid.

Saturday night life may try to get Tina Fey to play Rick Perry. She’ll need to buff up a little, but ...

Seriously, he needs to be tested for certain crippling progressive mental disease.

Maybe you could give him the name of your personal mental health specialist...it may be written in crayon somewhere in your ward...

“In recent years, time after time, Republican presidents have put liberal people on the court”

With all due respect, Essie, Justices Roberts and Alito, and Scalia and Thomas would very likely disagree with your assessment.

Perry in the meeting with the Register did not specifically mention the name of the case but did – about five minutes before making the “eight” comment — note a 1962 case while discussing school prayer. (The actual case was argued and decided in 1963.)

At least now some of it is being exposed rapidly. With all that’s transpired, those that are actually paying attention this early in the process now are beginning to see some of these for what they are.

The sticker is a blue & red oval with white print, “Paid for by RickPerry.org. Inc.”
I’m not going to pull it out of the trash and post a picture just for your claimed skepticism.

Both Perry and Gingrich remind me of Orrin “Booby” Hatch, they all claim to be conservative, and sometimes they get is SO right, but other times they come off as senile, ultra-partisan, extremist, wack-jobs.

I’m not interested is trading extremist Barry Hussein (D) for another zealot with an “R” party affiliation.

Religious zealotry is a sure deal killer for me, I insist on the separation of church and state, I WILL be as free from ALL religions as possible.
Anyone thinking a Theocracy is wonderful is free to emigrate to somewhere that already enforces it.
I intend to remain free. (Relatively speaking)

Donning flame suit now, as the insecure Holy-Joe’s will certainly begin lobbing insults immediately.
Have your fun, I can ignore you.

I read it and listened to it. His point was dead on right. But at that moment; he didn't know how many Justices there are.
Honestly; who gives a crap if he knew (at that moment in in that context) if there are 8,9, or 10 Justices?
We are being forced by the omnipresent media now to pick candidates who can recite this stuff flawlessly on the fly.

Basically it will be drones who can spit out certain facts; but are soulless, rudderless drones. Without instincts. Basically corporate types who know how to say all the right things; but who would who would never have core values to lay on the line.

Nice bit of spin, but he still got Sotomayor’s name wrong. You can’t spin your way out of that one.

You betcha, and even though he might make a mistake that any one except maybe a robot like the king of the united states would make, he is still my choice for president. Go,Go, Perry.

He wasn’t talking about how many USSC justices there are, he was talking about the 8 of 9 justices that voted to end prayers in public school in a decision handed down 48 years ago.

So the Perry sticker I had intended to put on my car today, not going to happen.

That is exactly what the socialist news media hopes you will say, they know all about how to control what how you think.
