Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Friday there are eight Supreme Court justices, not nine,......

That’s Heinz-Kerry justice — 57 flavors (at least Barack is sticking with that story).
I watched that video several times and saw absolutely no references to his previous statement about 8 judges on the SCOTUS.........How did I miss it and at what time frame was it mentioned?
You need to read it again - the whole thing this time. It is obviously exactly what he meant.
Big Deal, Obama thinks there are 57 States.
I don’t get it: the original spin was that he meant 1 Chief Justice, 8 Judges. This seems to be a default spin.
When Texas secedes it won't matter anyway
A lot of people here don’t seem to get at all what’s really important. This isn’t about whether Rick Perry remembers a name or number perfectly. It’s about who gets to choose the next Supreme Court Justice. This decision will impact this country for years to come. Do you want President Obama to make this decision? Or how about Mitt Romney or the guy who sat on the couch next to Princess Nancy. In recent years, time after time, Republican presidents have put liberal people on the court. I know that Rick Perry would put a conservative there. For me that’s all that counts.
Just like Herman Cain knows that the ChiComs have nuclear weapons but are trying to “go nuclear” with their aircraft carrier.
Whose spin was that? I never heard it before. I doubt very much that it ever came from Perry. He knew what he meant, as is obvious from the transcript. The only thing he got wrong was the year of the referenced Supreme Court decision - he put it in 1962; actually the case was decided in 1963.
How did I miss it and at what time frame was it mentioned?
He is referencing a SCOTUS decision from 1963 but mentions 1962. Go to the 33 minute mark in this video of the full interview and there is one reference. At about 26 minutes in he is speaking of his faith and that goes on for some time.

Well, let me clarify that a bit... OCCASIONALLY, there are 5 supremes.
... oh, and there are 4 (mostly 5) Supreme Court chairs that seem to usually have some vile life form on top of them.
Essie, I’m with you. You have an excellent grip on what is important and what is not. Keep posting!
Perry’s more radical than I realized:
“Its one of the reasons Ive called for doing away with the federal government.”
Perhaps he was in the video YOU are citing but the one that is getting quoted is the one I posted, which certainly does not bode well for his ability to make himself clear when speaking on such topics........
Like I said, he had better start getting his act together or the MSM is going to eat him alive next year.......
To me it's a non-story. The press played "gotcha" where "gotcha" wasn't appropriate. Perry clearly referenced the case his campaign later specified. This is just an instance of lazy hack "journalism."
Not sure which video you are refercing as the item came from Perry’s interview by the Des Moines Register staff. The eight is at the time frame I pointed you to in the interview.
P.S. I agree with you about his ability to make himself clear, condensed and to topic at times.

Look, I like Perry, I like his principles and believe his a true Conservative.
What I posted was because of concern for him, if you took it the wrong way, I apologize.
