Judicial activism is alive and well; working tirelessly to overturn the voters -- costing millions to litigate and could delay Texas' March primary vote.

Texas and Gov. Rick Perry are constantly battling Federal regulations and litigation on many fronts.

The 1964 Voting Rights Act is still used to deny a Texas GOP legislature their right to draw state district lines.

Presently, Texas' Photo Voter ID Bill (signed into law this year) is sitting on AG Eric Holder's desk for "review."

Rick Perry has been fighting the Feds on how to spend Texas' education dollars and has been victorious. There will be many more battles.

Rick Perry is fighting the Energy Dept/EPA on crippling energy regulations on plants that are causing rolling blackouts in Texas.

Rick Perry is fighting the Federal government's neglect to secure our INTERNATIONAL border and make them pay the costs Texans have had to bear from their lack of action.

Rick Perry won the right (Supreme Court case) to display the 10 Commandments on the grounds of the Texas state capitol.

Rick Perry’s Air War (with the EPA)......."Texas alone opted for the unfriendly approach. It’s the only state that did not issue a plan for compliance—and Perry has made it clear that Texas has no intention of complying. The move was a blatant slap to the Obama administration—and once again gave Perry the national spotlight. Defying the climate rules offered him the perfect opportunity to loudly decry the science of global warming—which in his book Fed Up! he calls a “contrived phony mess that is falling apart under its own weight”—and to slam EPA as a “rogue agency” with an “activist mind-set” that has “targeted Texas.” Such rhetoric is viral catnip to the tea party voters who could help catapult Perry to the 2012 presidential nomination."....

Gov. Perry sued for Texas' money (without Washington telling us how to spend it) -- And won! Promise Kept.

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES- VAN ORDEN v. PERRY.. ………”The Chief Justice, joined by Justice Scalia, Justice Kennedy, and Justice Thomas, concluded that the Establishment Clause allows the display of a monument inscribed with the Ten Commandments on the Texas State Capitol grounds. Reconciling the strong role played by religion and religious traditions throughout our Nation’s history”…….

OK, Cincy, enough of your bullcrap.

This "Judicial Activist" is named Xavier Rodriguez. He was appointed by your beloved idol, La Raza Rick, as a Republican to the TX Supreme Court despite his record of being a liberal Democrat. Republican voters were not amused and voted his butt out in the next primary for an actual Conservative. La Raza Rick worked tirelessly to run THAT man, Steven Wayne Smith, off the bench at the next election. Meanwhile, Rick's good buddy in the White House appointed FAUX Republican Rodriguez to the federal bench where he issues garbage rulings attempting to deprive the TX legislature of its proper role in redistricting.

You need to acknowledge that had Rick Perry never appointed that liberal phony Rodriguez to the bench, most likely that ruling would NOT have occurred at all, necessitating an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. Don't crap in our hats, Cincy, and tell us it's chocolate pudding. Your boy is 100% responsible here. Own up to it.

This isn’t just impacting congressional districts but local as well. We can see some of these issues here in town where the attempt is simply to redraw the districts to expand them to follow population growth. Liberals stepped in to sue to stop these. The proposed maps are completely jacked up to try to find some mythical balance, when in reality, it just keeps the poor in poor districts going to poor schools. Exactly opposite of what they claim to want.

Drawing districts is one of those silent battles going on all around the country.

Texas’ March primary will likely be delayed after the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday blocked the use of state legislative and congressional district maps that were drawn by federal judges.

I don't like the precedent of delaying elections.

I don't recall that elections were delayed the last time Texas went through this.

Wouldn't it be better to let the elections continue using the current districts, and wait until the 2014 elections to implement the new maps?
