This "Judicial Activist" is named Xavier Rodriguez. He was appointed by your beloved idol, La Raza Rick, as a Republican to the TX Supreme Court despite his record of being a liberal Democrat. Republican voters were not amused and voted his butt out in the next primary for an actual Conservative. La Raza Rick worked tirelessly to run THAT man, Steven Wayne Smith, off the bench at the next election. Meanwhile, Rick's good buddy in the White House appointed FAUX Republican Rodriguez to the federal bench where he issues garbage rulings attempting to deprive the TX legislature of its proper role in redistricting.
You need to acknowledge that had Rick Perry never appointed that liberal phony Rodriguez to the bench, most likely that ruling would NOT have occurred at all, necessitating an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. Don't crap in our hats, Cincy, and tell us it's chocolate pudding. Your boy is 100% responsible here. Own up to it.
"Another new measure made tightening air quality permits on the oil and gas industry more difficult. That law, which Perry signed in June, requires the Texas environmental agency to analyze the effect of new regulation on the economy - including how it might hurt a company - before implementation. The economic impact could override the environmental benefit of the new regulation. The new law reflects Perry's contention that global warming is a questionable theory and that regulation always creates an adverse business climate." Perry Slashed Environmental Enforcement in Texas
You believe the GOP redistricting wouldn't have been opposed by the Left????? ---- Hardly! and your "most likely" weasel words give you away.
So Texas House Democrats skipped town.
Republicans called out the state troopers and even the Texas Rangers (the ones in law enforcement, not baseball) to hard them back to Austin. But theyd all holed up in a hotel just across the border in Oklahoma, and didnt return until theyd secured a promise that the redistricting plan would be shelved.
That summer, Governor Rick Perry called a special legislative session to renew the fight. For round two, 11 of the states 12 Democratic senators high-tailed it to Albuquerque for a month, frustrating Texas Republicans once again. The standoff continued until one of them returned to Texas, and the redistricting effort passed."....
