Some children didn't write to Santa with their most heartfelt wish this holiday season. Instead, more than 5,000 sent letters to the nation's political leaders, asking them to stop a wave of deportations that is tearing immigrant families apart.
On Thursday, dozens of children brought the letters to President Barack Obama and Congress as part of the "A Wish for the Holidays" campaign, organized by the coalition We Belong Together

Agreed! I don’t think anyone wants to split up the families. That would be heartless!
:) ‘Morning, Old Sarge.
They can always go “home” with their law breaking parents
You can use this same logic to argue againt sending convicted felons to prison. “Don’t send my car jacking papa to jail! It will split up our family!”
Newt and Mitt really the frauds. So now what?
Perry is the only one even saying "secure the border" and if you look at the poll numbers, people believe him over the others. As a matter of fact that is his strongest asset, so you and your crazy minions are in the very small minority.
By the way, Ron Paul is a crazy ass old anti Semite.
You have to wonder what are their parents & this group actually telling these kids ?It is like they brainwash them, to believe all their problems result from Americans, racist attitude towards illegals, therefore the parents and the kids are victims of bad Immigration laws.
You can only imagine what kind of attitude these kids will have towards this county later in life when they are older and mature.
I propose the ‘keeping immigrant families together Act’ that stops the government from granting citizenship to children of illegals. That policy of making them Americans automatically is obviously cruel.
Yeah, the 97% of heartless conservatives are a marginalized minority only in Perryworld. That must be some good drugs Team Perry is handing out in the Jim Jones kool aid tent.
Did you know there are liberals who whine about American white couples adopting children from other countries because it "deprives ethnic children of their heritage"?
Aren't illegal aliens taking advantage of the American practice of granting citizenship to children born here doing the same?
Get over it. Time to move on. You have milked the "don't have a heart" statement for months now and that teet is all dried up. Move on.
Hey TADSLOS, did you catch Perrys new ad on Ytube ?What he says in the ad
The transcript of the 30-second spot, which is titled Strong:
Im not ashamed to admit that Im a Christian, but you dont need to be in the pew every Sunday to know theres something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids cant openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.
As president, Ill end Obamas war on religion. And Ill fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage.
Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again.
Im Rick Perry and I approve this message. in his ad he has Jesus appear and he is talking to him...
I think Team Perry is on something much stronger than kool aid Here @....The original ad:http://blog.chron.com/rickperry/2011/12/using-youtube-perry-proves-to-be-all-thumbs/
Apparantly illegal aliens don’t love their children enough to take them when they go.
Thank you so much for what you said. I am so sick of the hate on here for Perry.
They are not ‘immigrant’ families. They are a mixture of ‘citizen’ and illegal alien families. These children were conceived to garner the largesse and benefits-without-work that this country offers. If it were up to me, these ‘citizens’ would be deported along with their illegal parents and their ‘citizenship’ revoked. WE DO NOT NEED THESE PEOPLE.
Only five thousand letters. I would have thought the coalition We Belong Together would have been able to do better then that. /sarc
When is pious Rick going to “come to Jesus” over engaging in Texas sized insider graft and cronyism? When Rick is finally forced to slink back to Texas with his tail between his legs, he can spend his time explaining to Texans where hundreds of millions of their tax money went supporting his cronies and political appointees.
Thanks sickoflibs.
Agreed — deport the whole group.
