huge mistake for Perry. This might be his only opening yet to make a comeback...putting together a decent performance in a debate sure to get lots of attention. Also, it will be a different fell from other debates where he has fallen woefully short.

Good point but Perry sucks so much at debates he probably figures he can’t stand up to ridicule from Trump.

Agreed. A missed opportunity, especially for someone who desperately needs to recover lost ground.

No. This was smart.

The Donald is holding this “debate” for self- aggrandizement. He can’t get enough of it.

Agreed, not a good decision.

Big mistake, in terms of perception, if nothing else. I can understand it because Perry isn’t quick on his verbal feet, while Gingrich is. But on the other hand, if Perry could have defined some differences, he might have done himself some good.

Gingrich and Perry have similar plans and outlooks, so voters are going to chose on the basis of which one is best able to defend them. Romney has stayed ahead (until recently) by not saying anything and not engaging with the other candidates, but I don’t think it will work for Perry.

The debate was supposed to be on the ‘ION’ network. Not sure of the total viewing audience.

Good for Perry. Trump is not to be taken seriously. This kook is threatening to run “third party” if the chosen candidate does not suit him, thereby assuring the reelection of Obama. Trump is to be shunned.

huge mistake for Perry.

Wrong. This Newt/Trump love-fest/debate is already a running joke.

WHY would anyone give Trump the time of day?

I agree....but I've questioned right along if Perry really wants the Presidency. My opinion is he doesn't, he loves being governor of Texas and I don't think he's going to have a comeback for that...he fought the good fight for whoever thought he should run..but i don't think his heart is in it.

disagree. He only fell a bit short in the first two debates. He’s done fine ever since.

I admire him for saying no to Trump.

It smacks of desperation of the other few candidates who are doing it, and Perry is not desperate. Not yet, anyway.
