Sounds right. I lived on base in military housing. Only had them ask about a gun once and they had no problem with it.
It was Fort Lewis and McChord AFB (now one post/base) and we did have to have weapons and amo separate and guns unloaded. We could conceal carry on base if you had a CCP from Tacoma or around there, but not into the BX or other facilities. Basically you could carry from home while going off base. Dangerous neighborhood around the base, so maybe they had different rules. All I know is none of the people I knew ever had any problems and we went shooting and camping a lot.
Occupy also said that THEY would try to infiltrate [the military], too.
Never would make it through Basic.
First the home-grown Marxists, now terrorist!
It’s likely gerontophilia.
Yeah, this is entirely up to the Base Commander. This is the first time I have heard of any base allowing concealed carry though. Our local bases are in bad areas here. I live off base. I have a concealed carry permit from the state, but can’t carry when I need it most when going through these bad areas to go on base. I am fairly certain that this is the case on almost every military facility, including Fort Hood. In any event, Congress should actually do something good for change and pass legislation allowing military folks to carry on base if there is no specific restrictions on that particular person.
They were intimating they would cultivate members of the Armed Forces who are currently on duty, now way past Basic. The types on food stamps, suffering “discrimination” in the military, etc. etc. that kind of thing. Like the Winter Soldier Organization stuff of the rad left in the 1960s during Viet Nam War.
There is always a risk of traitors like Hasan. All the more reason to allow service personnel to conceal carry while on base.
So Janet "Nappy" Napolitano can get her rocks off thinking about it.
Cheers!
Retired military wife. I hate going to the commissary and BX. The base is on the wrong side of town. I feel naked with out my pistol.
I know what you mean. The most dangerous thing for me is getting to the base. Since, I can’t even stow my weapon in my trunk, I usually just shop off-base instead. Potential Jihadi terrorists or your every-day generic gang members aside, I would prefer not to be disarmed by stupid base policies.
“So why is a crippled white woman, age 84, being strip searched by TSA?”
At Israeli airports, passengers who are more likely to be a terrorist ( like, for example, a known member of the Muslim Brotherhood) would be subject to more stringent screening than those who don’t fit that profile. This would seem like just common sense to any reasonable person, right?
Not at the U.S. airports. Here, such reasonable judgment would likely result in a lawsuit, because profiling by TSA screeners has been interpreted by U.S. courts as being “unreasonable search and seizure”. The explicit purpose of the TSA may be “to ensure the safety of travel”, but thanks to our activist legal system, its implicit purpose is to humiliate crippled, 84 year old white women.

“House Report: Islamists Targeting the Military”
by IPT News Dec 7, 2011 at 7:08 pm
SNIPPET: “Since the United States was attacked on 9/11, more than 2.3 million Americans have volunteered to go overseas to combat terror. But according to a new investigative report issued Wednesday by the Republican staff of the House Homeland Security Committee, overseas jihadists in Afghanistan and Iraq have plenty of company when it comes to trying to kill American soldiers.
According to the report, the Defense Department considers the U.S. homeland to be “the most dangerous place for a G.I. outside of foreign warzones,” and the top threat faced by American soldiers at home “is from violent Islamist extremists.” These radicals are penetrating U.S. defenses by enlisting in the U.S. armed forces.”

“Iran May Target American Bases in Germany”
by IPT News Dec 2, 2011 at 3:27 pm
SNIPPET: “Iran is planning on attacking U.S. military airfields in Germany, to preempt a possible strike on Tehran, reports Germany’s Bild news source. Evidence of the plot was uncovered by federal investigation into a German businessman, on charges of “suspicion of espionage activities to sabotage,” who was working with Iran’s embassy in Berlin.
German Attorney General Harald Range confirmed the case on Thursday, stating the federal law enforcement had “launched an investigation and conducted operational measures.” This included a house search authorized by an investigating judge on Nov. 2.
Iranian terrorism expert Dr. Wahied Wahdat-Hagh told the Jerusalem Post that the Islamic Republic’s terrorist operations are directed from their embassies. “He [the suspect] had contact to Iran’s Embassy and was clearly a part of the Iranian terrorist cell that was led by the Islamic Republic’s embassy in Berlin,” Wahdat-Hagh said.
However, not all news reports confirm the plot. The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office told the Jerusalem Post that the businessman was not subject to an arrest warrant and that there are no “indications that in Germany an attack against US American installations was planned or will be planned.””
Thanks for posting this Cindy....I read about it today and comments throughout the internet were quite telling it’s a serious issue.
There’s no doubt the enemy is within our country and in disguise as I see it....in more ways than one. The election can’t happen soon enough! These guys know the next administration isn’t going to tolerate the nonesense happening under Obama....they may act sooner rather than later for that.
You’re welcome caww.
