Beck then asked Bachmann to clarify if she was calling Newt Gingrich a socialist. The Minnesota congresswoman responded:
"What Im saying is that - I'm saying a frugal socialist, yes! Because youre looking at proposals and programs that are in effect redistribution of wealth and socialism-based, and are we going to have real change in the country or are we going to have frugal socialists?"

She says it at about 1:35, after a short clip of the Gingrich interview
Nothing frugal about him.
Bachmann is not doing herself any favors with this commentary.
Many republicans and many freepers are frugal socialists..
Even though they may deny it..
Social Security is pure socialism..
Not LIKE pure socialism BUT exactly PURE SOCIALISM..
It must be a Ponzi scheme.. as all socialism is..
I used to be a Bachmann fan. I liked her conservative ideas and had my support. Slowly but surely she has convinced me to NOT vote for her. This comment is the jumping the shark moment.
I still like her, but she’s making it difficult.
“Bachmann is not doing herself any favors with this commentary.”
She has done nothing but damage herself throughout this campaign. Unfortunate for all of us.
Michele-single digit-Bachmann isn’t going to go anywhere.
Interesting that she never criticizes Romney.
Here’s JR on the difference between Mitt and Newt:

Michele Bachmann was “the first of any major 2012 Republican Presidential candidate, to publically endorse pro-growth conservative Doug Hoffman over RINO Dede Scozzafava in New Yorks 23rd Congressional District.”
http://www.clubforgrowth.org/whitepapers/?subsec=137&id=922
Santorum also endorsed conservative Doug Hoffman, but sad to say, Newt endorsed RINO Dede Scozzafava.
BACHMANN is on Sean’s radio today, coming up, last hour of show.

From left to right, Newt Gingrich, John Huntsman and Mitt Rmoney.
Oh please. This is getting tiring. We don’t believe it.
I can see by the comments here that telling the truth about a Republican politician is anathema to many members.
I heard the entire conversation and she is absolutely correct.
What? You calling me a liar buddy?
Bomb throwing before being forgotten....lovely. =.=
As always J Rob cuts through the crap and calls it as it is.
I’m not a Newt cheerleader but I think he is the most conservative person who can be nominated, and beat Obama.
I think everyone is salivating for the first Gingrich/Obama debate. At this point Newt is the only one I feel confident to expose Obama in front of God and everybody for what he is.
I think this is the best line Bachmann’s had during the entire campaign. I like it so much I’m going to start using it to describe the New York GOP. Take Democrats’ policies, chop off a couple thousand from the projected cost and call it conservative.
Newt needs to drop his damned “Nanny-State” ideas, such as using our tax dollars to pay kids after school.
The children belong to their parents, and not some damned Nanny-State, hair-brained program.
HEY Nanny-Newt! We are TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY!
After hearing Newt’s defense of Medicare Part D, am I supposed to agree with him and think that Bachmann’s comments about his defense of it are “bad” or “negative?”
