The elite Washington, D.C., school where President Barack Obama's daughters are students is offering a surprising lunch menu on Pearl Harbor Day.
The Washington Post revealed the lunch menu at the Sidwell Friends private school for Dec. 7 -- the date Japan attacked US forces at Pearl Harbor in 1941 -- includes teriyaki chicken and edamame alongside tofu and "oriental noodle salad."
The menu is printed on a school calendar, which notes that Wednesday is Pearl Harbor Day.

Sidwell is a very well known school there. I'm sure many other politicians kids go there. Probably some on our side.
Forget the 2012 elections...Arrest him...Indict him...Strap him into old sparky and use 1/2 power to slow-fry the communist scumbag!
NEVER give a leftist the benefit of doubt... NEVER. It only enables people like obamao and clintoon.

I understand that many are built here in the US, and many Ford's are built in Mexico. It's not a simple issue.
I just choose not to buy a product with a Japanese nameplate.
Reading an account of the Bataan death march reinforces that opinion of mine.
Also understand that my viewpoint has some holes in the logic and that other look at it differently.
Also understand those Japanese brands are probably a better product. And probably built with non union workers.
Unaccountably the Czechs call it a koláč and once more, just like the Japanese, they believe it's a sort of confection or pastry and not a real man's food full of raw meat and fresh garlic.
But did you get my drift?
A good snack is sashimi with thinly sliced aged cheddar on the side.
Would you address my whole post?
Ooooo, in my house that’s Kolache and we make them for Easter!
So, you believe that the Japanese of the present are worse enemies of America than the United Auto Workers union.
Carrying your logic to conclusion, no German or Italian cars, there are no British or French cars worth a damn, that leaves pretty much only Korean....... Hundai is nice
I lived in Manila and on a floor beneath our offices (US Navy OICCSWPAC) were the offices of the Mitsubushi Co. There was one flawlessly dressed Japanese gentleman there with a Philippina staff. It was barely 20 years after the surrender and his job was to look after reparations being tendered through his company.
If he was on the elevator, no Philippino would get on. If he got on while the elevator was loading, they would scrunch against the wall as tight as they could leaving a space around him. He never said a word and smiled agreeably but not a smirk. He really had a hard job having to deal so up close with the hatred.
A friend of mine and myself went to maravelies and drove up Bataan to the junction and on up to Clark Field. We followed the march route. Mostly it is long and could be very hot. The deaths were mostly Philippino but there were Americans who did die. It was a bad event, a terrible event.
But, that was then and now is now. I would hope the world of today doesn’t carry the grudges such as those in the Balkans and the Middle east for hundreds of years.
I remember when I was in grade school, our cafeteria gave us lots of goulash which I always hated. I found it odd since there is not one “Hungarian Observance Day” on the calendar....
Coca-cola is an American-invented drink. Carbonation process is not a drink.
Anyway, we’re a coutry of immigrants. Of course origins of things will be from somewhere else.
Fact is what I list is a classic American lunch meal.
What do you think I am saying?
Hint: I said exactly what I said. If you think there’s something hidden, you’re probably looking for something that isn’t there.
No thinks I really don't like cooked fish that much let alone raw.
As I heard right from from the mouth a Japanese Historian, Professor and 'scholar' on the History channel: "Japan has never invented anything." And he was proud of this and Japan's history of 'borrowing' things from other countries.
Their language and writing was 'borrowed' from the Chinese. Ditto for their swords and way of fighting with them - originally from China. And their hand to hand fighting was 'borrowed' from Korea. This Japanese expert then clarified that after they 'borrow' all these things, they just, "improve on them".
And this 'borrowing' and 'improving' things from Japan is still evident today. All electronics in our houses were invented here, or with luxury cars - Germany, and Japan just 'improved them'.
So I'm surprised that Japan 'invented' Sushi. Their history shows otherwise.
I thought maybe you had other info....
While you are at it.....

Chinese on Thanksgiving? Would not fly in my house, as my son requires mashed potatoes and turkey. Frankly Chinese on Thanksgving would not bother me in the slightest.
It might be odd if nothing was said ahead of time about the non traditional nature of the meal, but beyond that, no problem for me.
It is not the turkey, the gravy, the mashed, the sweets the cranberries that make the holiday. It is the surrounding of yoruself with friends and family and the giving of thanks that matters. JMO.

Ding ding - we have a winner!!!!! I love it when others make my point for me.
Our food comes from everywhere! Even Japan!
This is much ado about nothing.
Thank you for a reasonable statement
