The elite Washington, D.C., school where President Barack Obama's daughters are students is offering a surprising lunch menu on Pearl Harbor Day.
The Washington Post revealed the lunch menu at the Sidwell Friends private school for Dec. 7 -- the date Japan attacked US forces at Pearl Harbor in 1941 -- includes teriyaki chicken and edamame alongside tofu and "oriental noodle salad."
The menu is printed on a school calendar, which notes that Wednesday is Pearl Harbor Day.

Are you effing serious?
effing anti America, celebrating the sneak attack.
Words fail me.
Crazy.....
Do they take all the kids out to one of those Hibachi grills where they typically set the food on fire at the table on the anniversary of when we dropped the bomb on Nagasaki?
So this is what counts as an education when you’re spending $40K/year per kid.
a metaphorical, Obama-style ‘bow’ to the Japanese
I’m sure the kids enjoyed the shish-kebab, hummus and baba ghanoush that was served on September 11th.
Perhaps the Sidwell Friends private school will have their Christmas meal served with only halal food.
To be charitable, we could look at it another way -
We conquered them and ate their lunch!
Somebody check the class history book...to make sure they’re not teaching that the Japanese won.
Sorry but this type of story makes conservatives look like crack pots. I can’t believe Fox News even posted this as news.
Not a day goes by that the 0bama administration isn’t involved in something that irritates me.
Think like a liberal. They’re on a mission. It’s about reconciliation and reaching out to one’s enemies. I’m sure today’s menu is no problem at all for the school administrators, or for the family at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Good taste and appropriate presidential behavior really don’t enter in. The memories, the loss, and the feelings of the folks at home aren’t a factor.
Each of those dishes are Chinese as well. The Chinese weren’t really happy with the Japanese in WWII either. My daughter eats Teriaki Chicken at our local take out. Tofu and edamame are standard Oriental foods. Watch Kimchi Chronicles or Simply Ming on PBS. Those foods are not simply Japanese.
If they had served Sushi and Yakisoba it would have been Japanese.
That being said, bad PR move. Most people don’t know the difference in Oriental food.
Caterer says it was just coincidence that that menu fell on that day.
Bravo-Sierra.
They should just serve this on Hitler's Birthday, then.
Sounds like it was Barry’s idea. Another “in-your-face America” moment. I also got to thinking, barry is going to Hawaii in a few days. Why couldn’t he have gone a little early to recognize the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor by laying a wreath at the U.S.S. Arizona or something. It’s a rhetorical question, of course.
