Once again Pearl Harbor Day ignored by Yahoo and Google.

Every year I check both Yahoo and Google to see if they will acknowledge Pearl Harbor Day. As usual, nothing.

But I won’t be surprised if they [Yahoo and Google] note the anniversary of the start of the OWS protest...

And they as as Hell will remind us about how inhuman we were to A-bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The Costco I just went to did not have a sign up either.
Nor did the Mobil station I went to.
Nor did the Stop and Shop.
Or the Staples.
Or the TD Bank.
Or the Dunkin donuts.

I am not suggesting it is not worth noting and pausing to remember, but you need to keep things in perspective.

When I see all of those companies doing something, then I feel as though I could criticize Google.

Corporations have the right to express their feelings any way they want.

It seems as though you don’t understand the difference between the companies you listed and Google. Google regularly makes a point of including special graphics on its search page for special occasions, holidays, whatever. The point is, they go out of their way to celebrate leftist causes but fail to recognize important events in American history. It’s too bad you fail you see those differences. I’ve never seen a gas station celebrate any anniversary, but Google does.

They are an international company. They are a company that is targeted to a young, diverse demographic. I think it is unrealistic to expect them to celebrate ANY specificity US holiday. That would alienate a large part of their customer base.

I am not saying I agree with them...but if you want to know why, that’s why.

I’ve seen signs on gas stations celebrating employee anniversaries, customer events, and things like 9/11. It draws me in because it makes them look friendly and connected to the community.

But I don’t think less of gas stations that don’t do that. But I will go into the one that does...all other things being equal.

Last month their logo was for Veteran's Day. I remember it had a tree with a yellow ribbon around it. While Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is an important day, if Google had a drawing for every important day in US history, and the light stuff like Mark Twain's or Norman Rockwell's birthday, there would be no regular Google logo. It would be a continuous string of drawings, and that wouldn't make the drawing special when they did appear.

My dear Dad, now departed, was a Pearl Harbor (and WWII) veteran. He was forward gun mount officer on the USS Nevada. He was on board that fateful morning.

I honor and celebrate his survival, his valor, his courage, and his sacrifice every single Pearl Harbor Day (and truth be told...most every other day of the year too).

I don't give a rat's a$$ what any one else or any other company does. I do what I do; that is enough for me.

And I say to our now allied Japanese associates:I hope you keep remembering history....remembering Hiroshima and Nagasaki....and always and continually remember: don't piss off the real Tiger ever again.

If it were said by anyone other than a Johnny reb that could not manage to finish what they started, I guess I would be offended. Or do I have to bring my boys down there to whoop up on VMI’s ass again. At least we don’t shoot our own heroes.

When you finally get some shoes, we can have a reasonable conversation. The last time you guys came looking for shoes, we had to show you out of PA with your tails between your legs..

‘till then I will pray for you Johnny.

Twisted perverted logic from a RINO loving Northerner, as usual. Did you see GOOGLE’s home page today, the day after Pearl Harbor? The dingbats at Google paid tribute to Diego Rivers 125th birthday. You must be so proud.

You crack me up. Obviously you have never read ANYTHING I’ve written.

I an neither a RINO, nor did I defend Google.

I merely explained why THEY do not do what YOU want them to do. I clearly stated I did not agree with them.

In the end, if you don’t like what they have on their screen...why do you go there?

But, what should I expect from my southern brethren?

I could make a comment about marrying your kinfolk, but I am in too good a mood today.

Have a great day. Really, I am done trying to explain this...and I really love Central VA. Except I got a traffic ticket there one evening....

Go outside and see what a glorious day the Lord has given us today. I am.
