Phyllis Schlafly, considered a founder of the modern conservative movement, endorsed Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann for president on Sunday.
Michele has the courage to be a leader among her peers. She is a real champion in speaking up for values we care about. Michele is a woman of faith and the mother of a beautiful family. She has a 100 percent pro-life record and is a strong supporter of traditional marriage, Schlafly said in a statement.
Schafly first came to national prominence in 1964 when she wrote A Choice, Not an Echo, a book that is credited with helping the more conservative Barry Goldwater, a senator from Arizona, win the Republican presidential nomination over New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller.

Evangelicals supporting Newt big time in Iowa and SC!!! http://www.businessinsider.com/newt-gingrich-mitt-romney-iowa-south-carolina-evangelicals-polls—2011-12
From the Business Insider..”Both polls find that Gingrich’s surge is built largely on support from white evangelical Republicans a key voting bloc that makes up about 60% of Iowa’s GOP caucus-goers. According to the CBS/NYT numbers, for instance, Gingrich has the support of 34% of white evangelical caucus-goers more than his 31% support overall and far surpassing Romney’s 10% evangelical support. Moreover, the former House Speaker’s favorability ratings among white evangelical Republicans is 60%, compared to 31% for Romney. Conversely, Romney has a 43% unfavorability rating among evangelicals, compared to Gingrich’s 18%.
The numbers are similar in South Carolina, where Gingrich leads Romney among born-again Christians by about two-to-one, according to a new Winthrop University survey released Tuesday. As in Iowa, evangelicals make up about 60% of South Carolina’s Republican primary voters
Say what you will against Bachmann, but she’s not on her 4th husband, she’s scandal-free, and a Christian.
In all seriousness, if Phyllis Schafly endorses Michelle, that’s good enough for me (I was leaning towards Bachmann anyway).
Her recent activity attacking everything opposing her in pants is scandalous. Her 15 minutes are over
So?
She isn’t exciting anyone, which is part of the equation.
All Public Announced Polls are lies. Made up fakes to manipulate the populace. They are an attempt at self-fulfilling prophecy.
When you think about it, it is absurd for where the American populace does not want Obamacare, Big Government, Amnesty, gun-grabbing, bail-outs, corny-capitalism, etc that conservative are supporting the 2 worst candidates for those issues? Sorry but such “polls” are bovine excitement.
She sure gave my “no chance” congressman a big boost last fall.
I pretty much agree with your points, but she clearly is no more prepared for the presidency than Obama was 4 years ago. She has a few terms in the House. I’d like her to get the governorship in Wisconsin first or rise to a leadership position in the House.
hmm, an evangelical from Iowa just sent me this last week:
I am praying Walker retains the governership in Wisconsin and Bachmann is from Minn.:) hope the recall fails but doesnt look good ...damn unions
One of those flyover states....can’t keep ‘em straight. :>)
Sorry but such polls are bovine excitement. . . .

Perhaps you meant excrement. :)
There simply is nothing to say bad about Bachman. She has lived her life in a way that says she means what she says. Next to Cain she was my choice anyway. I can’t believe Cain has done this to himself. Why would anybody with skeletons that are still alive and not even in a closet run for president?
Newt and Mitt are both miles ahead of the worthless “O” but don’t compare to the true conservative Bachman. I will be sending her money. Perhaps a Bachman, Santorum ticket would do the trick.
As far as the polls are concerned, well, there is only one that really counts.
Thank you Phillis. You clearly know a conservative when you see one. Bachmann/Santorum 2012.
OTOH, I like Ann Coulter & Christine O'Donnell too.
Ann & Christine are pushing for Romney.
I'm going with Perry.
You mean FAKE Evangelicals are supporting a liberal. Bachmann/Santorum 2012.
Cain was railroaded.
Hard to compete when lies are spread about you.
Both are true, Constitutionalist conservatives. I was happy to hear Mark Levin announce his support for both Bachmann and Santorum too a few days ago.
Too many conservatives, seems to me, have jumped prematurely on every "not-Romney" bandwagon that comes along. We had a good candidate, Bachmann, do well the Iowa straw poll --then Perry announced his candidacy and BOOM, hordes of Republicans abandoned Bachmann for Perry. Big, big mistake. Sorry to Perry supporters, but he shot himself in the foot. Too dumb to run on the presidential level. Perry will not be able to recover.
Same thing happened with Cain. We were too quick to embrace him ... without really knowing the man. Con man, that is.
And now, Newt. The "progressive" Republican. An arrogant, narcissistic Big Government wolf in sheep's clothing. C'mon conservatives, we can do better this.
No one needs to say much against Bachmann, she has done a better job of shooting herself in the foot than even Perry.
I respect Schlafly, just hope this “women” thing is not a resemblence of the blind support of holders people for nobama. That being said, I suspect this endorsement is more a bit of polish to boost Michelle as someone’s VP, she has no chance at the nomination at this point.
