Alec Baldwin was booted from an American Airlines flight Tuesday after some turbulence with a flight attendant.
“Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving,” the actor said in a Twitter message after the incident.
The “30 Rock” star added a hashtag saying it was “no wonder” the airline recently declared bankruptcy.
“But, oddly, 30 Rock plays in-flight on American,” he said in a later tweet, this time promoting competing airline United with the hashtag “#theresalwaysunited.”
The cabin confrontation started when a flight staffer scolded Baldwin for playing the addictive Scrabble-like game on his iPad while the airplane was still at the gate, not moving, a source familiar with the situation told the Daily News.
He later demanded the flight attendant’s name, and the conflict escalated, the source said.
The actor, 53, was being rebooked on a later American Airlines flight after his removal, Baldwin tweeted.
Word of the ejection spread at supersonic speed as other passengers posted on Twitter, apparently committing the same offense as Baldwin.
“On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait,” tweeted Michael J. Wolfe, a former president at MTV.
Grant Cardone, an LA-based sales expert and author, was at LAX when airline employees told one another about the heave-ho.

If he's not screaming at his ex wife and daughter he's yelling at a Starbuck’s barista or a flight attendant.
As you pull away from the gate...and sometimes before, the flight crew clearly tells you to turn off all electronic devices. Computers, iPads, other tablets, cell phones, etc.
My guess is Baldwin continued playing after the announcement was made.
Later, he escalated the arguement to the point of having to be booted off the plane. No telling what all he had to say or how abusive he got.
too bad he wasn’t fulfilling his promise to leave the country back in 2004 when GWB was re-elected.
Cut up my Capitol One card when he became spokesman and paid off the balance. Don’t care if it hurt my FICO score. They’ve been sending me a notice a week asking me to come back. Finally called their 800 number and told them that as long as that troll Baldwin is their spokesman, I won’t be back and also told them that I must not be their kind of customer being one of those right-wing morons that Baldwin tweets about all the time.

I didn't buy a Toyota, I think it was, because they were going to use Mike TYSON as a SPOKESMAN!!!!
There are exceptions, but they are clearly announced.
I've waited in a "ground hold" for as long as a couple of hours. We pushed back from the gate (so they could use the gate for other flights), then parked on a taxiway near the runway. The captain announced his plan, and everyone was allowed to use cellphones, laptops, etc. until we were cleared for departure.
The destination airport was backed up due to weather. The FAA instituted the procedure back in the 80's to avoid wasting fuel in a holding pattern.
With the new rules about delays, I don't know if the airlines do this any longer. There's a risk of getting fined, so they may just cancel the flight instead.

They should probably explain to Alec, that there is only one approved place to play with your electronic gadgets before take-off.
I believe it’s standing in front of the left engine.
Most of us know that Baldwin is both an actor and a moron, but I repeat myself.
He may play a pilot while acting, but he's still an idiot. Almost as big an idiot as the loser who wrote the report.
Baldwin did NOT get reamed for playing a game; he was reamed for using an electronic device after being told to turn all such devices off.
I may share the idiot's belief that most electronic devices have no effect on aircraft instruments, but until conclusive and authoritative proof is established that they have no effect, most rational and sane people will comply with the requirement.
Arrogant SOBs should take note.
Just the other day, Obama supporter Harvey Weinstein was on O’Reilly and he said that Alec Baldwin would make a good President.
Why do we have to put up with these people?
