On private call, Republicans say attacking Obama personally is too dangerous
Yahoo News ^ | 12-06-11 | Rachel Rose Hartman

Republicans on a private Republican National Committee conference call with allies warned Tuesday that party surrogates should refrain from personal attacks against President Barack Obama, because such a strategy is too hazardous for the GOP.

"We're hesitant to jump on board with heavy attacks" personally against President Obama, Nicholas Thompson, the vice president of Tarrance Group, a Republican polling firm, said on the call. "There's a lot of people who feel sorry for him."

Recent polling data indicates that while the president still suffers significantly low job approval ratings, voters still give "high approval" to Obama personally, Thompson said.

Voters "don't think he's an evil man who's out to change the United States" for the worse--even though many of the same survey respondents agree that his policies have harmed the country, Thompson said. The upshot, Thompson stressed, is that Republicans should "exercise some caution" when talking about the president personally.

This is called “PC”.

I watched a Stephanie Miller video and trust me, the Left (Soros, Unions, OWS, Van Jones, Black Panthers, La Raza) are not kind, gentle or even rational...

I am not say we should stoop to the Ed Schultz, SEIU, Maddow, Malloy, Democratic cesspool, but we should not be hesitant to call out the disaster know as “The Won”

I personally don’t know a blessed soul who feels sorry for the guy. He’s the one who got out there in front of his Greek columns and crowed about how he was going to make the sea levels fall. They feel sorry for him they way they do for T.O. when his career crapped out.

It's long overdue to go after Obama for personal failings.

I never miss the chance to remind folks of how ignorant he is of everything.

His wife's fat bottom is not his fault.

Stephanie Miller is an irrational loon, even on things having nothing to do with politics. When her late night TV talk show got canceled back in the 90’s she turned the last episode into a bitter ranting attack on her bosses.

In a way, I agree. Why waste your powder and ammo on personal attacks when attacking his policies and actions is so much easier, and so much more effective?

This presents NO problem.

Attacking his policies gives us MORE than enough to ensure that he is voted OUT! It also forces people to really LOOK at the results of what he has done.

Like you see in the NFL

We have a lead, now we are going to go into prevent defense and set Obama up with a chip shot field goal in November 12.

If there was just one thing we learned from Trumps short run, attacking this loser in the WH is effective and gets results. If anyone recalls, Trump was driving Obummers numbers into the toilet every time he hit him. This is a perfect example why the Rove types in the party need to be ignored and forced to the back bench.

Let me get this straight. People feel SORRY for Mr. Seventeen-Day-Hawaiian-Vacation-While-U6-Employment-Is-14-Percent-So-I-Better-Hit-The-Golf-Course Obama?

Best thing the GOP could do is tab up all this donkey’s vacation costs in a commercial and then remind people that their unemployment benefits are taxable income.
