For those who missed it:
Last Friday Nancy Pelosi told Talking Points Memo that she had all sorts of investigative dirt available on current GOP frontrunner Newt Gingrich. Specifically, I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff. So
Newt Gingrich responded today by thanking Pelosi for the early Christmas present and noting
if shes suggesting shes going to use material that she developed while she was on the ethics committee, that is a fundamental violation of the rules of the House and I would hope that members would immediately file charges against her the second she does it. Annnnnd now were being told (via Weasel Zippers) it would be cruel* of me to use the word frantically that what the former Speaker of the House really meant by her comments to TPM was that there was plenty of public record information about Newt Gingrich available. Not that there was any private dirt. Nope. Not at all. Representative Pelosi then went on to reveal that the Red Sox had won the 2004 World Series and that Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has been indicted on felony charges.

Neut whining about someone else’s ethical lapses is nothing short of comical.
Checked.
Actually, in this case it does.
union work
And let's not forget those disjointed, irritating hand gestures which never seem to be sinc'd to her mouth. A cyborg?
Newt Pelosi can Biden me.
She deserves Newt. Newt is channeling Cujo now.
OMG Shivers that thought “four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year.” I think being locked up with her can drive a person to jump out the window or do something drastic.
I remember that photo as if it were yesterday...OBAMACARE. They were so “open” and fair including republicans...I detest Pelosi
For anyone wondering why Newt is at the top of the heap (for the time being) - just read how he took Pelosi apart in this episode.
Hi RitaOK, LOOK at the difference in Newt’s speech when he became Speaker of the House and his actions vs what we know Nancy Pelosi did.
Sorry it is a bit long...but talk about a refreshing reminder of the man Newt is..
On the first day of the 104th Congress the new Republican majority will immediately pass the following reforms aimed at restoring the faith and trust of the American people in their government:
First, require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also to apply equally to the Congress.
Second, select a major, independent auditing firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of the Congress for waste, fraud or abuse.
Third, cut the number of House committees and cut committee staffs by a third.
Fourth, limit the terms of all committee chairs.
Fifth, ban the casting of proxy votes in committees.
Sixth, require committee meetings to be open to the public.
Seven, require a three-fifths majority vote to pass a tax increase.
Eight, guarantee an honest accounting of our federal budget by implementing zero baseline budgeting.
We then say that within the first 100 days of the 104th Congress we shall bring to the House floor the following bills, each to be given full and open debate, each to be given a full and clear vote, and each to be immediately available for inspection. We made it available that day. We listed 10 items.
A balanced budget amendment and line-item veto,
A bill to stop violent criminals, emphasizing among other things an effective and enforceable death penalty.
Third was welfare reform.
Fourth, legislation protecting our kids.
Fifth was to provide tax cuts for families.
Sixth was a bill to strengthen our national defense.
Seventh was a bill to raise the senior citizens` earning limit.
Eighth was legislation rolling back Government regulations.
Ninth was a commonsense legal reform bill, and
tenth was congressional term limits legislation.
Our commitment on our side, and this is an absolute obligation, is first of all to work today until we are done. I know that is going to inconvenience people who have families and supporters. But we were hired to do a job, and we have to start today to prove we will do it. Second, I would say to our friends in the Democratic Party that we are going to work with you, and we are really laying out a schedule working with the minority leader to make sure that we can set dates certain to go home. That does mean that if 2 or 3 weeks out we are running short we will, frankly, have longer sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We will try to work this out on a bipartisan basis to, in a workmanlike way, get it done. It is going to mean the busiest early months since 1933.
Wonder how we will stop her from leaking the garbage?
Better to just jail her now and save the trouble of inditing her.
I guess that first one should be amended to: First, require all laws (except insider trading) that apply to the rest of the country apply equally to Congress.
Yeah, I would probably have had to strangle the creature.
Well, it would be time to keep a close eye on what is public and not-public from those investigations. If there is one whiff of not-public, it’s time to take Nancy’s oversized gavel and play some Whack-A-Mole.
Just by threatening to reveal confidential information, she has already committed an ethics breach.
Among many other breaches.
Karma.
I would think Pelosi might consider there is not much dirt about Newt that has not already been brought up. I would not think there can be much left that would not be a rerun.
