Uh, oh. The economic situation in Argentina must be worsening if Mme. Kirchner is trying to fan nationalistic flames with some sabre-rattling towards Britain.

Well, UK deciced to abandon Navy. Weakness invites trouble. This time UK would have to give up without a fight.

Call Lady Thatcher! She’ll tell you how to deal with these pirates!

I wonder if Great Britain’s naval cutbacks encouraged this.

I doubt Britain has what it takes anymore, but these Argentinian patrol vessels need to be treated as pirates and a few of them sent to the depths.

If I was GB I would buy a mothballed U.S. battleship. It would cost a lot to maintain but with a few support ships it would be dangerous.

I have read that those exocet missiles would not sink one, the armor is thick enough to absorb hits.

Argentina enforcing the Monroe Doctrine for us. That’s a shame. No empire, no centralized government, down with globalism.

Some quotes from the words of George Washington:

“Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor or caprice?”

“Nothing is more essential, than that permanent, inveterate antipathies against particular Nations, and passionate attachments for others, should be excluded...The Nation, which indulges towards another an habitual hatred, or an habitual fondness, is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest.”

The "Iron Lady" knew how to deal with this situation. I'm afraid the current leadership in Great Britain won't.

If England has decided that they no longer need to project their military more than 10 metres (as they say) beyond their coast, then they don’t deserve to keep those islands, as they are nowhere close to being up to the fight.

Game over...just keep stripping down and giving your underwear to your newly-arrived immigrants, who hold the knives and guns (and judges) to get whatever they need from you wimps.

Forget E-Cat; just harness the rotational force from Admiral Lord Nelson’s casket. You could power a nation!

I can see messing with the British. But dragging Spain into it seems to be a rather stupid move on the part of the Argentines.

Send a team from the RN//SBS into Argentina, grab Kirchener, bring her back to London, and imprison her in the Tower of London, where the tourists could pay £10 to throw rotten vegetables at her.

I thought this was a 20 year-old article. Great Britain needs to send a sub down there for some live-fire exercises.
