When three-year-old Romy went into labour her owners knew they had a long night ahead of them.
But when she started to give birth at their Coventry home she didnt stop until an astonishing 15 Irish setter puppies were born.
The amazing feat was almost double the average of a traditional litter of eight or nine and not far off the UK record. . . .
The squealing newborns, a healthy 10 girls and five boys, weighed between 275 and 339 grams.

We have a 10 year old dog who we was raised solely on a bottle from the time she was 2 days old (the “mommy dog” had health complications post delivery.) It’s around the clock work, but I imagine they’ll keep track, rotate the pups, and supplement w/formula if any are underfed.

Thanks for posting — great pics! I’ve had two Irish Setters, sequentially. Named both of them Maple. Beautiful, lovely, fun-loving pets.

I had a lab that had 12 puppies. All lived. But, even with expensive food and vitamins before and after delivery the momma lost weight and alot of hair. Those puppies drove her almost crazy..... They would not live her alone for one minute. I got her fixed after that.
