Pelosi plans to reveal information about Gingrich 'when the time is right' By Alicia M. Cohn - 12/05/11 11:44 AM ET

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is holding back some information on Republican Newt Gingrich that could detract from his presidential campaign, according to a report published Monday.

“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,” Pelosi told Talking Points Memo. “When the time is right. … I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

Gingrich, who served as Speaker of the House, worked with Pelosi in Congress from 1987 to 1999. Pelosi also served on the ethics committee that investigated Gingrich for tax cheating and campaign finance violations in the late ’90s.

Gingrich filmed an ad with then-House Speaker Pelosi in 2008 to urge action on climate change, which haunted him early in his presidential bid this year. Gingrich called the ad “probably the dumbest single thing I’ve done in recent years” last month.

Republicans in Congress have been slow to rally around Gingrich’s rise to front-runner status in the polls, with former GOP colleague Sen. Tom Coburn (Okla.) stating publicly over the weekend he is not “inclined to be a supporter” of Gingrich due to that past experience.

But Democrats such as the soon-to-retire Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) have suggested Gingrich as the GOP nominee would benefit the Democratic Party.

"He would be the best thing to happen to Democrats since Barry Goldwater," Frank said last week. Goldwater is credited with reviving Republican conservatism in the ’60s.

Pelosi told Talking Points Memo that Frank “spoke for a lot” of Democrats. “I like Barney Frank’s quote the best, where he said ‘I never thought I’d live such a good life that I would see Newt Gingrich be the nominee of the Republican party,’ ” she said.

And Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), who also served in Congress with Gingrich and now holds a position of power as assistant minority leader in the House, charged Gingrich on Monday with lacking the temperament to be president.

“He tends to fly off the handle. He will say almost anything in order to get a charge. I’m sure that he’s not serious when he says a lot of these things,” Clyburn said on MSNBC.

And Newt carries more baggage by the ton and he isn’t even telegenic.

Gingrich should do a CORE dump now. Get it all out on the table, confess and admit EVERYTHING:

T stand before you a flawed man. I have made many mistakes. I have hurt people near and dear to me. I am not proud of some of the things I have done. NEVERTHELESS, I stand before you TODAY a man worried about the tremendous damage the Obama Presidency is doing to this great country. I can tell you ONE thing for certain. I love this country. It is the greatest Nation on the face of the earth. I make no apologies for it. If you like the decline this country is in; if you think our best days are behind us, please vote for Obama. He will give you more of the same. If you want something better, if you want help me make this nation great once again, we need to defeat Obama. To steal part of a quote from history: “We have only one thing to fear...” 4 more years of Barack Obama.

Time for the GOP to go after Nancy, and take her down politically. Should be able to come up with some serious ethics violations, etc. We can play hardball too.

Amen! Such a Target Rich environment too. Instead of serving up candidates for slaughter the GOP should be doing pushback HARD. At least make the Dem’s earn it. Doing nothing just demoralizes the base.

So tell me folks, HOW IS this debateathon working out for us?

Looks to me like the person the Left would most likely want to see up against Obama is standing in the wings, and so far, the RNC couldn’t think up a coherent defense of the party’s players and goals if the retention of it’s testicles depended on it.

Oh I forgot, the RNC doesn’t have any. Forgive me...

Newt, I do not want to see you get the nomination, but if our players don’t stand up the Left, and the RNC doesn’t do any better than it has to silence the Left’s black-ops group, that’s exactly what we’re going to wind up with.

I think it’s time for someone to take back the one bullet this Barney Fife party has in it’s pocket. Give it to someone else who isn’t a eunuch.

The Republican Party is dead. The only heartbeat I can distinguish, is the constant phone calls for more life support. KMA RP.

If the Left’s players were being torn apart by the media and black ops groups like our players are, it would launch a full defense of them. You’d see a massive mobilization of talking heads, attorneys, and support groups.

Our people get attacked, and it’s crickets from the RNC. What’s “RNC” stand for anyway, Republicans Now Comatose?

Conservatives in America today have a lot in common with the victims of the Titanic.

Perhaps eighty years from now an idiot like Cameron will send down a robot with a camera, to see the opulence that was destroyed in the cold political darkness due to a collision with the U.S.S.R.’s last devoted admirers.

Play on R.N.C., you’re going down with the ship. Oh the stories our great grand-kids will tell.

And you watch, the RNC will do nothing while they take down Scott Walker in Wisconsin.

Pelosi getting involved in a GOP primary.

That’s enough for me to get swayed into voting for whomever she is trying to frag.

My dream ticket was always Palin/Bachman (talk about (”pilf’s”). I’ts not be too late for them to jump in as a package deal..But the American people are so enraged right now @ the Left & the demon possessed media that any “dirt”, no matter how bad..unless Newt killed someone, will be seen as bullsh*t for the most part by even the dumbest of the electorate. If Newt does not buckle under, like Cain did, to the billion dollar smear machine, he will clean Obama’s clock in the debates.
My guess is if it ever gets that far, the “O” man will not agree to the long “Lincoln/Douglass” style debates that Newt proposes. Obama can’t afford to have any light shone onto his falsehoods and dark deceptions, to be so starkly set against the clear straight truth, honor and intelligence coming from Newt’s speech and demeanor.
We ALL have dirt in our closets. That’s the human condition, but I think Newt is one of the only person/s who could actually turn this mess around. He can do it if he gets past this “Pelosi bomb” and the other stuff that will come.
I know it’s only a short time until the caucuses, but people have said “yes” after they’ve said “no” before and it was not held too badly against them. Christie, Palin, Rubio, even the Donald could still all get together & do some brainstormin’ to save this country.

if Pelosi had devastating information on Gingrich she wouldn’t be warning people about him before he won the nomination and started the general election campaign.. that makes ZERO sense

.. sounds to me like she is scared shi**less of a President Gingrich and what he might know about all of the Rats he took down in 1994.. of all the Republicans running Gingrich is the one who the left isn’t going to run over and they know it..

Gingrich will relish the comparison to Pelosi. He certainly can ask a few things about her.

Thanks for your input. That’s pretty much how I remember it (now). Newt’s ethics violations were trumped up and the crime became his supposedly misleading testimony to the Ethics Committee. And the IRS said NO CRIME. The bottom line: The Dems/MSM managed a successful coup.

They’ve been calling me for several years telling me they’ve gotten the message. One wonders what the hell they think the message was.

I hear ya...

Wrong on all counts. As far as the Church is concerned Gingrich WAS NEVER MARRIED. He was not married,IN THE CHURCH until he married Calista.

Marriage in the Church is not only a civil arrangement it is a Religious Sacrament. The Curch is only concerned with the Religious Sacrament as far as marriages are concerned. Any church wedding or civil wedding NOT approved by the Roman Church IS NOT a Religious Sacrament in the Catholic Church.

Please refer to the Baltimore Catechism for further explanation. Pgs 237-242

With Romney as the nominee, the conservative and evangelical vote is supressed

I don't buy it. Say Romney is the nominee. When the rubber meets the road, and the overwhelming majority of conservative and/or Evangelical voters get into the polling booth, or fill out their absentee ballots, they are going to think about 4 more years of Obama and what a f***ing disaster it would be for this nation (USSC nominations, for example). And they're going to pull the lever for Romney, or whomever else is the GOP nominee.

I am not a fan of his. But this is how the democrats plan to pock off the GOP candidates one by one. There is so much dirt out there on Obama. It is too bad the GOP can’t figure it out.
