PD Composite: Gingrich 38%, Romney 22%, Cain 14% [all others single digits]

Newt Gingrich has suddenly taken a commanding lead which will only be buoyed by recent reports that Herman Cain will indeed endorse the former Speaker today.

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney sees his first appreciable drop. The data suggests that for the first time some of his base may be defecting to another candidate, presumably Gingrich.

I’m still bummed about what happened to Cain.

What are the substantive differences between Obama and Gingrich beginning with socialized “mandated” health care?

I’m afraid that the two conservatives still running are splitting the conservative vote. Once a candidate gets to double-digits (around 10-11%), he or she can rise to the top in a few days. We have seen this several times already.

Mr Amnesty was at 5% few weeks ago. Romney will remain around 20% till the end.

If the results are like this in Iowa, I believe two of Perry, Bachman, Santorum will drop out and the one remaining still have a chance. Maybe if Perry signs 100% pledge to oppose amnesty and support at least some enforcement action (imaginary wall does not count), maybe he is the backup if Bachman/Santorum drop out.

I won’t vote for RINO in GOP primary.

Check the 'side bar'. Campaign says no endorsement.. False 'rumor'.

Next time, add this to the end of your “img” tag: width=”700”, to keep it from flowing off the screen.

The most interesting thing is that for the first time we are seeing a real drop in Romney. His supporters are finally figuring out that no matter how many of the other candidates they destroy, the votes will never go for Romney. So some of the insiders are bolting to Gingrich along with the “Anyone but Romney” crowd. While the insiders would prefer Romney, they know they can work with Gingrich. On the other hand if Gingrich falls off the top of the pile, the next one to get the “ABR” vote could be Santorum or, God help us, Paul. So it will be a combination of “ABR” and K-street that will lock things up for Gingrich. Unless of course he steps in it big time in the next few weeks.

Amazingly Cain was still right in it until the Ginger White crap hit, then it simply wrecked him. But even with that he was STILL at 14%, double Perry, and well ahead of Paul. What a tragedy. Cain insiders told me the main reasons were (1) Bottom fell out of fundraising, went over to Newt, and (2) Gloria put her foot down: no more—this will never stop until they destroy you and our family. Still makes me furious what the Left has done to these good people. I just wish he could have stuck it out somehow for a few months, to deny them.

I left Cain after the Ginger White thing for this reason: it has nothing to do with morality, but it has everything to do with judgment. He KNEW this was in his closet; he SHOULD have known it would come out. To not know that tells me he isn’t as sharp a businessman as I thought. Moreover, if this is what is known, there is always-—always-—one more shoe to drop. I’m guessing he didn’t want to hear that sound.

If you don't know the answer, please stay home on Election Day.

You are an unfit voter....like most of the Obama crowd.

I left Cain after the first incidents and the inept response to those. I think his campaign manager is a nutcase. Accusing Perry and other people for the leak without any evidence is not the right way to deal with the accusations. They also falsely accused some reporter of being a son of the accuser without any evidence.

This is why campaigning is hard for amateurs. You need professional candidate and especially, professional campaign team. It is a full time job.

I guess Cain didn’t believe he would ever be the top candidate so he didn’t care about the baggage. When he emerged as top candidate, it was too late.

Secretly paying money to women without telling a wife..There cannot be any honest explanation for that.

Gloria put her foot down: no more

I don't blame her for doing so... This had to be a humiliating experience for the whole Cain family.

ACU gave Gingrich a 100% rating.

===============================================

JimRob posted 12/4: Newt Gingrich allied himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition, the Religious Right, and the Republican majority (and together, the Reagan Revolution) which directly led the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, less government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy.

================================================ Republican presidential front-runner, Newt Gingrich, is a thrice- married conservative. This is raising questions in political circles. His popularity has been fueled by his commanding presence at the presidential debates. As an intellectual and a scholar, Gingrich has said his recent conversion to Catholicism brought him an inner peace he had never before experienced.

REFERENCE Three of the last five Republican presidential nominees have been divorced. President Bill Clinton survived, even flourished, after revelations of a sexual dalliance with WH intern Monica Lewinsky, and Senator David Vitter, Republican of Louisiana, was re-elected even after disclosures that he frequented a prostitute.

Perhaps he wasn't familiar with the Axelrod method of opeining up legal records that are supposed to be confidential. Perhaps he thought a confidential settlement with an NRA employee 14 years ago would remain as such, or that a woman he had helped financially would be grateful for it. Naive yes, but so was political novice and businessman Jack Ryan when he faced this in his Senate race vs. Obama and also dropped out.

ACU gave Gingrich a 100% rating.

That's encouraging. What's discouraging are the reports of Gingrich's sympathy for socialist "mandated" health care.

Wonder how he tallies with the Tea Party.

Random thoughts:

Somehow the GOP is again managing among the millions of possibilities to come up with another "white-haired [semi]wrinkly dude," against the "cool" "One we have been waiting for." The truth is the reverse of the image: the freedom we stand for is vibrant and robust while the Marxism the left stands for is old, decayed and rotting. So why is the face of old, new, and why is the face of the vibrant, old and wrinkly (and fat)?

The "cool dude" is just what we predicted.

A fake, phony and a fraud!

Would you vote for the last person to balanced the budget four consecutive years(Newt)?

Or would you vote for the "cool dude" who exploded the deficit, appointed communists and is clearly a traitor to the American Republic!
