In a scheduled announcement today, Herman Cain “suspended” his campaign, weighed down by proliferating allegations about sexual harassment and infidelity. In his speech, he explained that he would end his run for president, but would continue promoting his unique solutions and policy views, through a website, thecainsolutions.com.
As of today, the site lacks content, only offering a chance to subscribe “to be notified when the full site goes live.” It doesn’t suggest much about what kind of policies it will be meant to promote, only stating that “The PEOPLE will choose. Not politicians. Not media outlets. The People.”
One can subscribe with both an e-mail address and street address, suggesting Cain may continue to build a direct-mail database, or has other plans.
His wife probably had something to say about it.
I hear you, I was hoping Palin would get in.
BTW, please thank your Marine for his/her service. :)
I agree, SS.
Regardless of the real reasons for dropping out, this makes him look extremely guilty of all the charges brought against him, especially the adultery charge. It’s too bad.
WOW! How could they have misspelled politician? I just let them know...was probably the 100th person to do that.
Yea we know what happened, but McCain stunk before he suspended....:O)
Exactly so. They had an opportunity that most of us never get to make real changes and they bailed.
Liberals like Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, and Barney Frank (to name just a few) get into terrible trouble. But they all just hunker down, fight back, and survive to carry out their agendas.
But conservatives like Palin and Cain just give up and surrender the field. It's very puzzling and very depressing.
Mr. Cain assumes there will be an America to change after another 4 years...
Assuming we are still here.
Somewhere, someplace, some very evil and nasty people are high fiving, partying down, making toasts and drinking champagne.
What a shame.
How embarrassing. I just looked and it is still spelled wrong. A truly amateurish website too, looks some something one of our junior developers put together on lunch break. Features a picture of a lonely looking guy facing away, appearing all downtrodden. I'm guessing they rushed this so Cain would have something positive to say today.
Or even a revolution by then.
Agree with you about Cain, but Sarah Palin didn't blow it. It's true that Alinky-ites forced her to step down by abusing Alaska's ethics process. But Sarah will be back.
Cain, OTOH, is forever finished as a candidate for president.
And btw, Sarah's endorsement is currently eagerly sought by this year's crop of GOP candidates. Sounds to me like her name still carries great value.
I’m guessing that having power and being a liberal is a religion to Kennedy, Clinton, etc. To Palin, and Cain it’s a job.
Candidates may still want her endorsement, but Palin peaked and is simply a historical footnote.
