I think he could have ridden this out. It’s a shame to watch a guy get taken down for doing the same thing Martin Luther King Jr. did, and he got a national holiday to boot.

I am SO much for CAIN, but I’m puzzled because at least 3x in his speech he labled them as “FALSE ACCUSATIONS.”
But, honestly, if the allegations were false, would he give up something like this so easily?
I sense that there was some truth to the allegations, so that would make CAIN a liar in this speech. I don’t like either option:
a) he just lied to us or
b) he’s backing down due to mere false allegations.
As I posted earlier, I still hoped he had the guts to stick it out and continue running.

Not saying guilty or not guilty in this case as I have not followed the soap opera in this event closely. That said .... when one runs for political office they have to know what mistakes they have made and when in life before they do such.
Mere fabrication an accusations can be dealt with as a he said she said etc...
Vetting ones personal, business and political record of events is MANDATORY for POTUS.
For example I helped a person get elected locally as her handler . manager and we set down and discussed from birth to current events in her life with her parents and husband. We had complete tax records, names of past employees, disgruntled or not. School records, friends and enemies etc and got her friggin ducks in a row and when the mud started slinging as it does IN ALL POLITICAL RACES she made her opponent look like the liar and fool he was with facts and copies of her records for the folks on hand.
I would suggest to anyone that can not counter any such event or accusations of improper behavior ethics etc with facts , times, dates and reliable witnesses to think twice before entering a local dog catcher or presidential race.
It will get ugly and you, your family, friends, coworkers etc have to be ready for trash being dropped on you and yours 24/7 by the opponents “machine”.......
My Opinion based on my experience in a small local election....
I hope Mr Cain’s just “suspending” his campaign for a while versus leaving / quitting all together.
