The genius of the media in bring this forward as they have is that MOST people have no idea of life in the upper socio-economic strata. The public, in general, think all couples are just like them and their friends/family, struggling to make ends meet, a limited amount of discretionary dollars (if any), home for dinner together every night, etc. Stereotypical middle class America.

The Cains don’t live that lifestyle. Note: EVEN WITH this blow up on Monday, he didn’t get home till Friday evening. Most top execs travel extensively, and have hundreds of associates, “friends,” who the spouse never heard of and will never meet. Many are of the opposite sex. Some, like Wright, are parasitic, and will (ab)use the ‘friendship’ of a Herman Cain. They have a built-in radar for that and they prey on the Cains of this world.

I’d like to know how many of the ‘journalists’ who are on Cain have ever given a dime to a ‘friend’ in need. They probably donate (thru their spouses) to their chosen political candidates and causes, but would let a friend go hungry.

A salient observation. I think that is broken as well. I know a CEO who grew a Fortune 500 healthcare company into a Fortune 50 over the past ** years [ain't givin' away the info]. What helped him the most over that wildly successful run? Home for dinner with family 3 nights a week minimum.

The opposition doesn’t think it through that much. It’s just find dirt, throw it. Oh they have a sense of what may stick and what won’t. But people expected, and I think rightly so, that Cain and his wife had a more intimate and communicative relationship *because he presented it as such*. That is why this particular dirt had a greater impact. I don’t really think any of his supporters believed he had a affair, but many things he has done have cast a shadow on his judgement- and he has asked us to trust his judgement since he lacks some types of experience. This particular bimbo stalked and suckered him and he never mentioned it to his wife. Bad form.
