Universal Studios Florida to close 'Jaws' ride

ORLANDO, Florida -- Universal Studios Florida plans to close one of its oldest and most popular attractions next month to make way for a new attraction.
The theme park announced on Facebook on Friday that on Jan. 2 it will permanently shut down its "Jaws" ride, which is based on the blockbuster 1975 Steven Spielberg movie.
It was one of the original features at the park when it opened in 1990. The surrounding "Amity" area inspired by the island where the movie was set will also close down to make room for a new attraction.
The park isn't releasing any details about what's next.

Wow, we were just there...and it was a treat for my kids, since they had just seen the movie Jaws for the first time.

Watching that video reminded me of when I went on that ride....those flames half way thought are actually quite hot and you can see the guy wiping the sweat off his face from the heat wave hitting the boat....
Too bad it's going away it's really a neat ride...

I’ll bet it’s the new DEMOCRAT TWILIGHT RIDE I’ve been hearing about. You walk in.....they suck all the money out of you.....they do a sequel.....they suck the money out of you.....part 3......they suck the money out of you.....at least with JAWS, you got a boat ride.
