COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Set to meet with his wife for the first time since a woman came forward claiming she had a 13-year extramarital affair with him, Herman Cain is preparing for one last campaign stop before he decides whether to press forward with his bid for the Republican presidential nomination.
...
"White said the affair was never about love and that Cain never said he loved her.
"Nor did I tell him that I loved him," she said. "It wasn't a love affair. It was a sexual affair, as hard as that is for me to say and as hard as it is for people to hear it. You know, it pretty much is what it is. And that's what it was."

Oh yeah....I can easily forgive the affair...it’s the fact that he is telling ‘us’ that he has to talk to his wife.....it’s the fact he didn’t tell her.
The Godfather’s pepperoni pecadillos have caught up with him. To all the Cain-bots on FR who were bashing me earlier in the week when I said Cain was done and that in this case, there were no weasel words which could save him, I ask what is your excuse for him now?
Well He might be, I don’t believe its true. There needs to be proof. Only a troll or a Liberal, Marxist, Democrat would believe what the press is spinning.
The whole idea of publicly planning a formal meeting with your own WIFE seems rather absurd to me. What the heck is going on with this guy?
I hope that his wife forgives him, but a 13 year running affair (to some extent even if it didn’t include sex) is asking a lot of any woman.
Ask Maria Shriver.
So, is Mrs. Cain going to chase him out of the house while threatening him with a 9-iron?
Oof!
Herman, you about to enter the BIG dog house.
Not good.
IF he does not respond well and forcefully to these accusations he is not presidential material.

It will be interesting to watch these hallowed pages once Cain drops out and endorses (GASP!) Mitt Romney.
It’ll happen, too. Hide and watch. You can get your revenge then, rubbing Cainiac’s noses in it. Mind you, there are quite a few classy FReepers who support Herman Cain — but there are also many obnoxious Insane-For-Cain types here.
And next week there will be LIVE VIDEO of Barack Obama going home to Michelle after a live hour-long interview with Larry Sinclair telling heart wrenching details about his homosexual affair with “The Won”
You mean, like Clinton: “I did NOT have sexual relations with THAT woman, Ms. Lewinski” with his crooked finger pointed at the camera?
I really want him to stay in. I am so very sick and tired of conservatives allowing us to be bullied and blackmailed into quiting. I am pro-Cain based on issues and this has nothing to do with issues. Frankly, unless he has compromised national security I am just not interested.
Bachmann has been the best candidate since day one. Nobody here is going to switch from Cain, who is otherwise a great conservative candidate, to Mitt Romney.
Quite frankly if conservatives had an alternate I’d abandon Cain. However he’s the only viable conservative candidate ... Bachman and Santorum notwithstanding and a whole lot better than Mittens or Newt even with this “problem” IMO
No proof of sex in this affair. His dumbass move is helping the lesbian slut get on her feet by giving her money. This is a real lack of judgment. Cain, leave now.
As many good ideas he brings to the discussion, he has proved he is not presidential material, from a personal judgement angle.
With what allegations we have heard, true or false, you can bet your booty the nobama team has much more “nuclear” stuff they will hit him with if he gets the nom.
No proof of sex in this affair. His dumb-ass move is helping the lesbian slut get on her feet by giving her money. This is a real lack of judgment. Cain, leave now.
I'm not a troll. I've been here since 1998 and have posted over 10,000 responses.
I'm not a Marxist or Democrat. Never voted Dem in my life, can't stand socialism, which perusing my history will show.
So, your statement is factually incorrect. It is possible to be a conservative GOP supporter and still believe that Cain had an affair with Miss Ginger.
He's human. Lots of humans have affairs. The more rich and powerful one is the easier it is to have an affair: the travel, ability to provide money to the girl, etc.
It's not like it takes some huge leap of faith to believe this: we've had a long line of politicians who've had affairs. Mark Sanford, John Edwards, Gary Hart, John Ensign, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Newt Gingrich,
It seems to me it takes blinders to be so SURE, so absolutely POSITIVE that Hermain Cain is telling the truth. Really? You know him that well?? From what, his YouTube clips? His debate performances?
I don't think I know any public figure that well. I'm not sure I know my best friends that well (that I could swear they had never cheated on their wives). Given that, why would anyone make that claim about Cain.
I think you need to do some introspection before you continue tossing around accusations at the rest of us, who are operating in good faith and trying to find the right person to lead us into the post-Obama era.
I am more firmly convinced than ever that Cain, what ever other virtues he has, is not that man.
>> Nobody here is going to switch from Cain... to Mitt Romney.
I hope the hell not — and that’s not what I’m suggesting.
But I am suggesting that Cainbots are gonna have some ‘splainin’ to do when their “great conservative candidate” endorses Romney. As he already DID once, in 2008.
There’s gonna be a great deal of cognitive dissonance expressed here on that day. Otherwise known as “heads exploding”.
The only candidates in the race who would never sink so low as to endorse Romney are Ron Paul and, possibly, Bachmann.
