MANCHESTER - Herman Cain acknowledged Thursday that he repeatedly gave Ginger White money to help her with "month-to-month bills and expenses" without telling his wife of more than 40 years.
In fact, the embattled presidential candidate said, his wife, Gloria, "did not know that we were friends until she (White) came out with this story" alleging that the two had a 13-year extramarital affair.

Cain also stated clearly for the first time that as a result of the constant controversy he has been facing, he is considering getting out of the presidential race.
Asked whether leaving the race is one of the options he is currently assessing, Cain said, Yes, it is an option. Regarding his decision, he said, "You will know by next week" as he takes the weekend to reassess where he stands in the campaign.

What a dumbass to say he had no skeletons in his closet. Just like Gary Hart.
I guess the whores are alive so technically he is correct.
Maybe the poor down and out sluts were easy pickin’ but they are coming back to bite him in the ass. Then again maybe he likes that.
I didn't realize the OWS people were the only ones unemployed, perhaps he didn't either.
Roll tape...
Cain was addressing the OWS maggots. He mentions both the Obama administration and the OWS maggots themselves as being at fault.
My wife felt the same way, with the first set of accusers both Cain and his lawyer were unequivocal in their statements when this woman showed the lawyer used what my wife called ‘weasel words’ she figured something was up.
You haven’t been reading very well then. He said this in his first teleconference, and then hooked onto the “reassess” word to explain how that didn’t mean he was considering dropping out, although he had also said he was considering dropping out in that transcript.
And he said so in the interview with Cavuto, although other things he said there were latched onto to claim he said he wasn’t. He’s said no way at a couple of campaign stops, but a campaign staffer said he was considering quitting, before another staffer said he wasn’t.
Cain needs to stick to some message, and it would be nice if the message was about the election, and not about women falsely accusing him, or the process of his campaign. It’s all distraction, and it’s allowed Gingrich of all people to become the leading candidate.
Cut the defensive nonsense.
I know you like to hang on to every Cain word, so I'm going to do the same with your words. This is what you said....
As I said, this is the first I've seen him say that he may resign from the race.
I thought he said that the first time he spoke of this, to Blitzer. So many freepers said otherwise, though.
Well, whatever. Barring hard evidence or confession from Cain, we should not judge.
That’s really rude and uncalled for. I contributed to Cain’s campaign.
Sorry if you can’t take handle political satire when you’re so emotionally invested in a politician.
Sexual affair or not, the fact he was giving financial aid to another woman unbeknownst to his wife is a foul. Not good judgment, IMO.
This sort of financial secretiveness and duplicity with one’s spouse doesn’t look good. Cain has the virtue of being among the more conservative candidates, but it looks like he’s through.
No, there are telephone calls and text messages and now his admission.
RIP
Newt is next.
Have you thought of switching to Santorum?
OK, I’m sorry you didn’t see those other things he said that I mentioned in my last post.
Did you need links to them, or do you think you can find them here at FR (search on cain tag, I’m sure you can find the transcripts for cavuto; the conference call may be problematic because you just have people quoted who were on the call, so you could argue that the problem is what people thought they heard).
Exactly. Have you considered Santorum? Less baggage
been out of the country for a while?
This comment by you - in reply to a “standard issue political cartoon” of a candidate’s campaign being “toast” - is completely rude and uncalled for.
Abuse button hit, and you _really_ need to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, so you don’t get so attached to a mere political candidate. Really!
Sounds like you could benefit from a reality check.
